difference between messer and falchion

i checked the stats of both of them and tested them in fights. They are like one and the same weapon so why does the messer require 5 points ant the falchion only 3?

The reality is, The only difference between the falchion and messer is the way the handle was made (apparently had to do with disagreements between the knife making and sword making guilds, the messer having the handle of a knife (and being the german word for knife), and the falchion having the handle of a sword) In game, the falchion is your bog standard one handed falchion, While the Messer in game is more of a grosse messer (literally german for big knife) the much larger two handed version of the messer, That extra length is the reason behind the point difference
