game won't start (at all)

when i press the play button the game tries to boot up but it stops after like 1 second. literally nothing happens

I tried:
1. verifying game files
2. reinstalling (manually deleting the directory too)
3. starting it through my headset, starting it on desktop mode (and the vr mode)

what do I do?

yeah I mean I refunded the game but I can buy it again ig

I got the valve index

and yeah I did that, also I never had any mods installed I never got to run the game but I did remove the whole folder and try to reinstall afterwards

yeah kinda the same problem here, tried deleting the blade and sorcery folder, checked all my mods, verified game files. get to the loading screen and it gets stuck 2 times, the second time is always a CTD without an error message.

I ran into this problem just today and I have tried everything I could find on the internet but nothing worked for me, anyone any solution that is not everywhere or worked for them?

I genuinely have no idea, at some point it just started werking, maybe reinstall windows, pretty sure I did that by the time I tried playing again,and if you're on win 11 try running it on 10

try disabling all overlays (steam, medal or anythinf else you might have)
update your gpu drivers
reboot your puter
and close everything you dont need and try to play then


also if you're using a pirated version make sure you have the latest one, this bug happened to me on an older version


if it still doesnt work then eughhhh run it as administrator maybe, i genuinely have no clue, idek why it started working for me

I fixed it already
I had to move the game from one storage to another and it just came to life idk whats wrong
on the original one is half life alyx and it runs just fine so I have no idea whats wrong
also I moved it back to the original and it works also
