When I launch other games, steam vr automatically starts, with blade and sorcery it doesn't, it is as if it doesn't recognise it as a VR game. I have already made sure steam vr mode is set as the launch option
I have no mods installed and my steam vr in not on the beta branch
for you two on.. assumingly quest devices, can you see if you're running meta open xr runtime as the default in the meta quest link app https://i.imgur.com/yWdrLb9.png
The unfortunate thing is I often get random frametime hitching specifically in this game with the Oculus app and Virtual Desktop. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the runtime or what. SteamVR is a lower quality but up until now it's been the most reliable for me.
As a second test dummy, I also tried that based on your previous reply. No dice, using the SteamVR app still wouldn't launch the game.
When I say "launch the game" I specifically mean that the game would launch, I could hear audio, but SteamVR (through Steam app and the Quest app) kept me stuck in the SteamVR background environment visually. None of the display or controller info was being transferred to the game itself as confirmed on my monitor.
i'm using Valve Index on win11.
SOLUTION: How to do a 100% clean install
Hello! This is how to do a 100% clean install for B&S if you are still having load issues after removing your mods and deleting Documents/mygames/BladeAndSorcery. If this doesn't fix your loading issues then there would be something gone wrong elsewhere, like the headset, your PC, etc.
Make sure all mods are deleted including from vortex. This means going into streamingassets/mods and manually deleting all mod folders, and/or going into Vortex and uninstalling any mods in there.
Uninstall the game. Go to the game location in Steam or Oculus (file path for Steam is something like \Steam\steamapps\common\Blade & Sorcery) and ensure the folder is not there. If anything is there, completely delete any remaining bits manually.
Delete the folder located at Documents/mygames/BladeAndSorcery if it is present - Don't skip this. You also gotta do it manually; reinstall wont remove it. You might also have a folder called "Blade & Sorcery" (difference is the "&"); you can delete that too - it's just a harmless junk file from Steam.
Check C:\Users\ [username] \AppData\LocalLow\WarpFrog\Blade Sorcery and if you have anything there, delete it.
Reinstall the game. When it installs, it will be a clean install of the latest live version. Make sure you are not opted into any old beta or old game version.
Launch the game and make sure it is all working (don't add mods until you are positive it works).
