Constant freezing -- No mods, tried all the basic troubleshooting

i5-13400F
GTX 4070 Ti
32 GB ram
Windows 11
Game installed on SSD
Headset: Bigscreen Beyond
No mods, never had 'em

I just started playing (technically I tried it a few years ago, but refunded because I wasn't having fun with just sandbox, but that was on an entirely different PC). When I can play, it's super fun. Runs pretty well at max settings, but runs a little smoother if I lower 'em. Until the game freezes. Everything stops, and I go to the SteamVR waiting room. If I put my headset in the spot where it froze, I can see the game in its frozen state. If I wait a minute or two it'll come back and I can keep playing for a while, but it's really not fun being constantly interrupted. I haven't noticed any pattern in it triggering either. It's happened when unsheathing a weapon, activating the jump dash skill, opening my inventory, removing something from the inventory, putting an item on the buy table, walking in the dungeon, walking in my home. But I've also done all of those things and been fine.

Troubleshooting I have already tried:
-Verify files through steam
-100% clean install steps from pinned thread (uninstall, delete game folder in documents, delete game folder in appdata,reinstall game)
-Deleted characters and started over
-Watched task manager during freezing event -- cpu,gpu,memory utilization wasn't high (possibly low?), gpu temp within normal threshold
-played some other games for a couple hours to see if the problem happened on others (light brigade, grimlord) (those worked fine)

Any other ideas? I haven't seen any other posts about others having this issue so I'm at a bit of a loss...

Update: Today's update 1.0.2 seems to have mostly fixed it. It still happened a couple of times when I first started today, but I was able to do a whole play session of several hours without problems! Since there wasn't anything specifically about freezing in the patch notes, I'm guessing it was something to do with the memory leaks.

Back to having the same problem. Sometimes I can play for hours with no issues, or at most one. Sometimes it's every couple of minutes and I have to just stop playing. Task manager isn't showing anything maxed out. CPU and GPU temps are both in the 60-70C range.

Update again: I'm pretty sure I solved it. If anyone else has this problem (and half my frustration was that no one else seemed to have the same issue), check to make sure you don't have OneDrive (or similar cloud storage) trying to sync your Documents folder. I think it was freezing any time the game tried to open the save file and it was already locked by OneDrive trying to sync with the cloud.
