Main menu is broken

Almost everytime i get to the main menu im just looking at an image of the main menu that follows my screen as i look around.

Edit: No mods installed

It is a weird old VR bug that has haunted for a long time and has no reproducible origins. Even stranger, sometimes it just simply goes away on its own... Anecdotally, I get it more often when I am using mods, but I have no clue the cause really, nor why that workaround fixes it. It's the worst!

same. i had this issue before where when i started in the home but it was easily fixed by bringing up the steamVR pause menu but this just breaks the main menu entirely and puts me in an empty void with dark sky surrounding me.

i just tried a "clean install" as instructed on the main page and still nothing. is this something to do with the index or is it hardware based?

fellow index user, exact same issue, menu stuck to screen, water moves, so i think its a tracking issue of some kind

edit, you can jump and turn...using this i clicked ok...moving your head makes your playspace move\rotate to keep the game center...basically the opposite of what should be happening

yeah i had this exact same issue on update 9.3 when i first started but opening the steam overlay menu with the small menu button always fixed it, now all it does is break the game even more and put me in a void outside the map.

i made sure to delete the folder in my documents/my games and that didnt help either, fresh install before that and everything :L

yeah im convinced this is a problem that is literally never going to get fixed. i love this game and i respect how its only being developed by one guy but its been so jank since the very beginning of me starting.

i mean it just cropped up now, at least for me, other people have had it fixed before by just opening/closing the VR overlay, this seems to be the first time it isnt fixed that way, and the first time its cropped up for some people at all, such as myself...

considering a good portion of the playerbase is prob on index, i'm skeptical they'll just let it stay in...
