One thought occurred to me though; I'm not sure if it will fix your problem but maybe it will --
Take a look in your save file in the location Documents\My Games\BladeAndSorcery\Saves\Default. There will be the .chr with lots of letters. Open it with notepad, have a look near the top and make sure "calibrated = true", and if not, set it to true.

This is the calibration for the controllers that you usually do before making your character. Perhaps wither Quest controllers or something with VD is screwing up and this is not registering.
The other thing to try is deleting the entire saves folder as described here. Documents\My Games\BladeAndSorcery (not to be confused with your game installation directory or Documents\My Games\Blade&Sorcery, which is a steam junk folder and will do nothing. https://steamcommunity.com/app/629730/discussions/2/2450469119947281759/
Some of you said you did reinstalls, etc, but reinstalling is not the same as above and has to be done manually. So first try the calibration thing, and if that doesn't work try the delete folder and then the calibration thing after. And if it works lmk so it can help others.
I've tried deleting the referenced folder (BladeAndSorcery) in my documents before, it has deleted my character etc and I've had to start again but hasn't helped me being able to play the game.
MrHamWallet, I just realized I should not have merged your thread with this Quest thread as the two may or may not be the same thing, since Quest/Virtual Desktop can introduce issues on their own, nothing to do with the game, and there have been times when using a Link cable fixes things for example, but that won't be relevant to you.
And then also realized I misread everyone's entire issue of the disappearing pointer in the first place, and was thinking of the issue of looping calibration on character screen. I had been answering that question a bunch and was on autopilot, so sorry about that guys, I was leading you in a circle there.
So, the disappearing pointer: There are some easy things it could be right away that hopefully it will be this - Make sure the game window is focused (ie you are not tabbed out or clicked into a windows explorer window), and that no console menu is open (eg, the dev cheat menu, F5, F3 freecam, etc). The reason is there can't be two UI pointers at the same time, so it's either mouse or VR controller. So that's the first thing, and hopefully it is as simple as one of those.
The second easy thing to try is what I did already mention above which is deleting the entire folder Documents\My Games\BladeAndSorcery (not to be confused with your game installation directory or Documents\My Games\Blade&Sorcery, which is a steam junk folder and will do nothing. https://steamcommunity.com/app/629730/discussions/2/2450469119947281759 The reason this can work is because for a start mods can mess up your game, so you gotta remove those first, and then even with the mods gone they can still impact your save/config files so you gotta flush out the entire thing. So if you havent done this, try this,
But if it is not any of the above, then it is likely the unfortunate bug which is logged but we are still working on, where the pointer will randomly disappear. However what is a bit weird is that the bug as we have it logged happens randomly, so simply restarting the game can fix it. This randomness is what is making it hard to reproduce and fix. If it is persistently happening however, then perhaps it is something else, but that would be a bit strange that it would be persistently happening because it is not a universal bug (ie not everyone has it). And if it is happening in a reproducable way (ie it happens ten out of ten times you launch) then it will also be very difficult to figure out exactly what is going on because can't reproduce it here, and if it is some 3rd party thing causing mischief we'd have no way of knowing since things like that don't register in the player.log.
For Quest users, perhaps it is something in the Quest/VD category. If you have a Link cable, try that. You might also check out the VD forums and see if VD could be the cause as this software is unsupported, so if they did something on their end it might break compatibility for example.
But if it is persistently happening and you are not a Quest user like HamWallet, then I'm not sure what else it could be.
One last thing; if you think this is something caused by the most recent 9.3 update, you could test this theory by rolling back to U9.0 (in steam > betas) and lmk if it persists. This could help is try narrow down on what it could be.
When this first started happening, I was still able to get into the game, and the game worked normally beyond the main menu. In attempting to fix this, however, I deleted the folder in My Games, which deleted my character, and I cannot create a character in that one second, so I can no longer get into the game.
I don't have many other games to test with, but I have no issues with similar menus in the VR home or my only other VR game, Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.
I've tried all of the general tips for fixing issues, removing mods, fresh install, deleting the folder in My Games, have Steam validate my files, and I've even followed the 100% clean install instructions, and nothing has worked. Has anyone had this issue, or know how to fix it? I'm using a Vive on Windows 10.
