SOLUTION: Mods not working / Mods don't appear in game / Question marks showing up in the book

Hello, if your mods are not working, the good news is it is almost guaranteed to be one of only a few reasons. If using manual mod installs, try using the in-headset mod manager; this will majorly cut down on the chance for user error.

However if you are still having trouble or really want to do manual mod installs then read on: for the list of things that could be going wrong

• Your mod may be in an accidental subfolders; this happens when extracting the mod folder from the archive and you accidentally make the subfolder in the process. Your actual mod folder should be in streamingassets/mods and not some subfolder with your mod folder. • Be sure you are not using mods for the wrong gameversion of B&S. Old outdated mods will not work with the newer game versions. This is the second most common user error.
  
  
• Double check you have placed the mod in the correct directory. For PCVR that is StreamingAssets/mods. Make sure you have extracted the archive you downloaded from nexus. It should be a folder and not a .rar or .zip file.
  
  
• If you are playing the PCVR game, make sure you are using mods made for PCVR and not Nomad. Oftentimes modders use the same artwork for both versions of their mods, so it can be confusing.

If your issue is not resolved by any of these things, then you could consider seeking help by making a discussion post about it, but I guarantee you the issue is one of these things.
