Arms scaling ?
Hey, I just got my Oculus Rift S, and I was eager to try Blade and Sorcery. But I have some problems with the arms scale I think. I played Gorn earlier and it was the same problem. It's like I have to hug ennemies to hit them and there isn't even enough power in my blow. So I don't know if it is normal to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ swing my arms like I wanted to beat my girlfriend to make a tiny bit of damage ? I can't even stabs with the dagger or the short sword.

Or it just because I'm too small ? Like damn, ennemies are like a head taller than me.

Your B&S avatar represents you at a real-life scale. So if you are rather small in real life, you will be of a same size in VR. If you need to alter your height, you can install OpenVR Advanced Settings[github.com]. Then, you can adjust floor level to change your height.

As for attacks, B&S uses physics engine to simulate inertia and mass of objects and weapon you use. This is represented by weapon "dragging behind" your arm if you move your hand too fast for that weapon's simulated weight. Such swings will result in an inaccurate and weak attack.

Try being more deliberate with your swinging and use moderate speed. It helps to imagine that you are actually holding something rather heavy in your arm and adjusting your swing speed accordingly.

On top of that, large weapons, like Claymore, spears or polearms, have to be held with both hands to be stable. Using only one hand will result in weak and imprecise attacks.

Also, weapon orientation matters a lot. As B&S keeps track of how the blade is angled towards the target, striking at a shallow angle will do very little damage as you will be pretty much slapping your target with a side if the blade.

All this takes some time to get used to but when mastered, B&S combat is a very satisfying experience. Take some time to practice, before jumping into combat. Use a dummy in the home location or a Classic 1v1 wave to make it easier to train.

Start with shorter blades, like daggers or short swords, to get used to B&S combat. They are light and have very little inertia to themselves. After that, try longsword and, when you'll get used to it, larger weapons.
