I've also seen at least one case of this happening to other player for no obvious reason. He reported no workaround back then so I'm not sure if he solved this at all...
I cleaned the wire connection, didn't really work :(, but is there anyway I can disable this function? I've look into the settings, didn't saw any...
As far as I know, pause on helmet off cannot be changed. BTW, can you check B&S log for errors? Log file is located in c:\Users\ <your username> \AppData\LocalLow\WarpFrog\BladeAndSorcery\Player.log
hmmm, I've found it, there's lots of lines in there, what should I look for...
I'll copy few line I've seeing the most:
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug/Debug.bindings.h Line: 35)
Reset UMA texture to fix Unity bug when headset is off
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug/Debug.bindings.h Line: 35)
Unable to find Nature/Tree Creator Albedo Rendertex shader
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Modules/Terrain/VR/TreeAlbedoNormalRenderer.cpp Line: 100)
Unable to find Nature/Tree Creator Normal Rendertex shader
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Modules/Terrain/VR/TreeAlbedoNormalRenderer.cpp Line: 109)
Unable to find shaders used for the terrain engine. Please include Nature/Terrain/CameraFacingBillboardTree shader in Graphics settings.
I believe 70% of the log is just this few error repeating, Is there anything looks like a problem...xD
These ones are harmless, nothing to worry about. You can search log for "error" and "exception" keywords to see if any critical issues have occurred.
No exception, but there are two errors:
ERROR: Shader Shader is not supported on this GPU (none of subshaders/fallbacks are suitable)WARNING: Shader Unsupported: 'Hidden/Nature/Terrain/Utilities' - Setting to default shader.
Curl error 7: Failed to connect to cdp.cloud.unity3d.com port 443: Timed out
Unable to find Nature/Tree Creator Albedo Rendertex shader
hmmmm, Maybe because the pause action is a default function in the program so it didn't record what triggered the pause, so it's not in the log? which means it is very hard to track down the reason....right?
Neither of these are critical. And, anyway, unrelated to the issue at hand.
Yeah, pretty much. I was hoping to see if there's something in the log that will help identify the cause. But it seems that whatever is happening, is not due to a severe fault but rather is still within "normal" behaviour. It doesn't mean that was supposed to happen but it means there's no clear fault so we can only guess what exactly is happening.
I will see if I can get the Community Manager's attention to this issue, maybe he will be able to pass the word down to KospY...
thank you very much sir, btw I am using VIVE pro eye and I downloaded the VIVEPORT, is there any possibility that VIVEPORT and SteamVR are having conflict...xD
Not that I'm aware of but if you can try running B&S without Viveport, it would not hurt to check if that will make any difference.
Hey, I had some new clue, I found out that the movement to triggered this 'pause' is when you look below the horizontal line of your headset, as long as you look up, it never happens, is there some settings maybe I somehow mistakenly changed and caused this
Specs: 8700k, GTX 1070, 32GB ram.
Usually play with wireless, tested with wired today and the issue persists.
I will try the tracking suggestion and check logs tomorrow.
Some observations:
The issue occurred occasionally for me after U8.1, and got significantly worse since U8.2 the game is sadly unplayable at the moment, as soon as I enter the character selection screen I am in this paused state.
Once I use the steam vr menu button to regain normal control I seem to re-enter this state within 30s or less, regardless of where I am in the game.
In U8.1 when I launched the game and the paused state did not immediately occur on the character select screen it would not be an issue in that session. I have not been able to start U8.2 without it occurring.
Not been able to notice anything significant following the suggestions in this post.
The issue does seem quite random, today when I was trying to replicate the issue I managed to launch the game and play for 15 mins without any problems. After a restart I could only play for a few seconds before it happened again.
I was mindful of my headsets position and orientation relative to the light towers and could not identify any clear patterns, it would still occur looking in any direction and at any height I could reach.
I have not issues like this in other games.
