Cant launch because Windows defender thinks it has a virus

When i try and launch the game or verify the files windows defender says its not safe because of Trojan:Script/Cloxer.A!cl virus in the files and steam says corrupt files.
Dont know why it suddenly started didnt have it yesterday and i have tried reinstalling

Thanks for the reports, guys. It's 100% on kospy's radar and he is looking into it. Seems like the problem is just Windows Defender.

I know some people have sent in like the files to windows defender and have them verify its virus free and then they marked the game as not dangerous

Yeah this is exactly what he's gonna do. I just wonder why it suddenly got flagged one day with no update or anything.

I really don't know other than kospy is tryna get it sorted. This is not something he can just "fix" because there is no problem by him. This is Windows Defender screwing up, so they need to remove the false flag.

Glad to know it's a false positive. Thought I somehow managed to give myself a trojan when installing mods from the nexus.

Haha no you are safe. What's really annoying is he has to wait until U5 drops to get the fix from Windows because the .exe is about to change.

Just had this happen to me, tried reinstalling, then allowing the exe in windows defender, but steam itself sees it as a virus and won't let it run.
