Audio cuts out
I am using Oculus Rift with this game on steam VR. During gameplay, my audio will cut out and it will not start working again until I restart my PC again. Any ideas to fix this?

is it happening in other games too? The Rift has a notorious headphone issue where many note the audio cuts out intermittently (usually one ear) and one day cuts out altogether. I suffered this problem myself. If this is your issue I can link you to a DIY fix.

It has only happened with this game, and its in both ears that it cuts out. But I can take a look at that fix, maybe it will work for this.

Same is happening with me,I thought it was my new USB 3.0 extension cable doing it. The audio cuts out randomly too. Sometines 5 minutes in or even at the character slection screen. So sometimes it will last an hour. It's quite annoying for streaming, you can exit the game and unplug the USB port which shuts down the game but will allow you to get your audio back without restarting also when the bug happens the rest of oculus is also muted too and the only way is to unplug and plug.

Super weird! I've not encountered anyone with this to date. Maybe someone can chime in if they had this issue and what the cause could be.

I have the exact same Issue, Audio cuts out altogether in both ears, does not fix until I restart computer. It only happens in this game and fps starts to drop after the audio cuts out. Anything I can do to help?

I believe so it happens pretty quickly, It's like it breaks the audio drivers or something. It's made the game unplayable for me I really hope this issue is taken seriously as this is one of the best VR games I've played

Would it help to know what Nvidia driver I'm on?

So it takes a lot longer for the audio to cut out if you run it in steam instead of Oculus but it still happens at one point or another

Baron do you know if this issue is being addressed? I am unable to play because of it.

I did not play update 4 and have no cable extension I am almost sure this a bug in the game on the devs side of things. I really want to enjoy this game, I just want to know if they are aware of this issue and are working on a fix. I have done so much trouble shooting that I'm sure it's a problem with the game itself but I'd like to be wrong.

I don't think so because this is the first I've heard of it myself, so I don't think it's on kospy's radar. I know there is the infamous oculus rift audio bug as I mentioned earlier where over time many people have had audio begin to decline, then usually one earpiece stops working, but that is an oculus problem. But if your positive it's not your headset then I don't know what it could be as I've never seen it reported outside of this thread. Maybe you could throw a post up on the discord under #help and see if anyone else has had the issue and if so if they found a fix, and also kospy visits #help so he can maybe chime in.

Found Fix! It could have been one of two things. I updated windows to 1809 (KB4495667) and I also uninstalled Big Screens audio drivers using device manager. Thanks for the help guys, hope this helps you guys as well.

Amazing, man! I will try remember this as the possible culprit if anyone else has this issue. Whenever their is weird ♥♥♥♥ like this it is almost always a third party culprit but it's so hard to say what it is exactly since everyone's PC is different. I wonder if someone else fixes this way and if we can pinpoint if it was the drivers or the Big Screen.
