game keeps lagging after new update and cant seem to fix it

i feel like after the recent new update it changed my game i knew because my settings was changed and now im experiencing some of the worst lag ever when i load into sandbox my game keeps lagging ive tried removing mods i removed GhettosFirearms and a few other mods i didnt need but im still lagging like crazy i recently downloaded assassins arsenal which i already have but i downloaded the updated version of the mod and barcode machete keep in mind i do have over 250 mods in the game most mods are just weapon mods and my game barely lagged at all last update but now its almost impossible to play the game

so what should i do?

lol i know its a lot but my game barely lagged at all last update with that many mods but now with the new update load into sandbox and it starts lagging i even removed all the mods and added ones i would and it still lags with only 63 mods

How certain are you that 100% of the mods you were using (either way) are fully up to date/operational to/in the current version? Sometimes games do weird and unpredictable things because of only one tiny bit of code being "outdated" in some way.

How certain are you that 100% of the mods you were using (either way) are fully up to date/operational to/in the current version? Sometimes games do weird and unpredictable things because of only one tiny bit of code being "outdated" in some way.

yeah most of the mods are up to date with the latest version im using 17 mods and there is a few that are not up to date and i might try and remove the ones that are not on the latest version right now im trying to download mods that are after the latest patch so im going to try and see if that works and i even updated my driver to see if that fixed it

Update:

The entire time it was the usb I had it plugged into one of my my sd card reader usb ports and made it show up as usb 2.0 took it out and plugged it directly into my pc loaded up all 260+ mods and everything runs fine now and fps goes from 80 - 110 there’s a few stutters here and there due to using magic in the game too much but I rarely use it unless I’m using a bow I will either use fire or electric to the arrow but other than that everything is running fine

Huh yeah that'd explain it tho. And yeah the game does have occational stuttering in general for me too, but nowhere near gamebreaking.

My personal biggest issue is that i keep getting "stuck" on the tiniest bits of terrain than any normal person would not even realize it was there irl while stepping over it, like small rocks and stuff like that, that should not stop your character at all, but somehow is enough for your character to have to jump over it or step around it despite not even being a hands width high theoretically.
