Those stone golem bot crystals can be placed in the rings at the house and they will be powered within the device so you can augment them with crystal shards....
Word of warning.... crystals only merge once, so if you were thinking you'd be able to merge 4 singles into two doubles and then merge two doubles into a quad and then 2 quads into an octo.... forget it....
Near as I can tell the extra crystals are worthless....however they still count towards the seal on the cave door.
You combine a lvl 1 with a lvl 1 to get lvl 2.
Then you combine a lvl 2 with another lvl 1 to get max lvl 3.
You need three lvl 1 crystals to get to lvl 3 and unlock the most powerful spells.
But if you have two level 2s you can merge them into a level 3 and get some shards.
Merging two level 3s gives only shards.
The power level of the discipline the crystal color represents is limited to 3.
