Play in a wheelchair?
Hey there. I'm sure this has been asked before. But it's there a way to play sitting? Yes I'm aware it may be more difficult to play. I've wanted this game for a long time and as I'm finally getting VR I was hoping to find a way to play the game without having to stand as well I can't.

You "sorta" can play seated, but the game will turn you into a hobbit with stretchy arms. Here's an example:

I *think* it might be possible to trick the game regarding your real height using OVR advanced settings.

That's how some people claim to be playing Pavlov while seated (that title also has no seated mode support for no reason whatsoever). Now, I haven't tried that, but if it works, it should give you normal height while in the helmet.

In my experience playing titles that require mobility while seated in a chair limits your upper body mobility by a factor or two or 4. It is MUCH easier to dodge something when you stand, compared to when you sit even if you don't step to the side.

However, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to play and finish blade and sorcery in a chair., once you find some way to add height offset.

I'd recommend to grab OVR advanced settings (they're free) and then try to tune the game with it. If it doesn't work, refund.

An interesting point raised I can't imagine it would be too much work but im not really aware of the level involved, to include the feature for such people that don't have the option of diving around like a madman into a wall

couldn't you just set the character height to your sitting-height? or would that still result in noodle-arms? do the enemys scale according to my height?

Standing as I do, I am always wishing I had more space to move around. I cannot fathom being locked to a chair for this game.
For a chair gamer such as yourself I would suggest using spears or bows to keep your enemy at range, and make sure not to allow an opening to your back.
A very good game for sitting exclusively in your chair would be VTOL VR. It's got nothing in common with this game, but you certainly won't be disadvantaged due to your movement style.

I played sitting the first time. I auto adjusted height and thought it might be fun to play as a "Dwarf" or "Halfling". There were issues with that perspective around blocking and hitting but. . nothing a dwarf or halfling wouldn't experience?

The biggest problem was picking up dropped weapons. (EDIT. . now I know how this works. . is awesome) It was messy. I could sort of grab them but had trouble shifting them around. There are likely mods that would help. For the price I would still think it was worth it. 2 hours should give you a good sense (as far as the refund policy goes on steam)

You can pick weapons with telekinesis. Telekinesis is always available.

Yes you can, I play seated when I get tired of standing, use telekinesis to pick up weapons and items it just might be a bit awkward when fighting but you should be able to get used to it. Also unlike what some have previously stated all vanilla weapons are viable it's just a matter of practice

You're going to have harder time barehanded or with daggers, to be honest. Chair limits upper body movement and those weapons need it the most.

It will be also be harder doing stuff like throwing knives playthrough (Medieval Mega Pack), if you put them on your hip. Because of the armrests.

Anything that fits into shoulder slot, however should be good to go, and it is always possible to just wipe everything with magic.
I think there some decent mods that can help you here. Definitely take a gander on the Nexus and see if anything takes your fancy.

this game is very funny after hard works :)

You absolutely can play sitting. I'll do it myself if I'm tired of standing up. The only real issue is that it can be kind of a pain to get at your waist weapons, but I usually go with dual wielding swords, so it's not really a big deal for the most part for me.

Moron. Did you ever get unbanned because of your fake disability
Scar Apr 14, 2022 @ 11:36pm
The game detects your height so you should be good on that perspective.

You can use telekinesis to bring weapons to you.

Dunno how operating the book would be though unfortunately

but yeah unfortunately not many VR games are disabled friendly as far as I'm aware

the quest 2 has an inbuilt accessibility mode in which you can slide a slider that makes you double your height so when youre sitting, your character in any game stands roughly 6'0 feet tall, but to my knowledge, steam VR has no such option, if by chance youre using an oculus headset, the pc version of their oculus home might have a similar option, but pc and quest vr home is too different for me to make assumptions and guesses

I think it's more the devs don't want players playing vr like they're controlling a character (like pancake games). Instead they'd want you to be moving about, dodging, crouching, etc all in real life - to give immersion, fun, engagement - all the things vr is great at.
