Armor Guide
Is there any kind of guide to how good any of the armor is? I'm at the start of the game and I've bought quite a few pieces of armor that cost a lot of gold, but don't give me any additional armor rating, and then if I go to return them I get a fraction of the gold back.

I figured rank = stars of armor rating, but I bought several armor pieces that didn't add anything to my stats, and some of it can't be worn at the same time.

Anyways, some kind of guide here would be helpful. Like a list of all of the armor pieces and how much they actually add to my character or what can be worn at the same time.

You can tell the defense and other stats of each armor piece before buying by opening your inventory and then grabbing the piece.

Not put it in your inventory, open your inventory and grab the item with your other hand, it should show up on the right side of your inventory.

Grab the armor and open then your inventory, the stats of the armor are at the right siede.

If the armor looks like steel it should have 4 to 5 stars

The armor kind of makes no sense at this point. Like the T3 Leather armor gives less of every single stat than the T3 Caster armor.

I suspect the armor system doesn't work quite as it 'looks' like it works.

This is fueled by the idea that armor never actually does what it does for the npcs (hitting armored parts on NPCs with a sharp weapon is practically pointless) while you can be hit with sharp weapons more or less fine, it just reduces how much damage you take.

So, going forwards from that, actual armor rating just reduces the damage you take if thats the part of your body that's hit. Which also probably means the actual stats you get from the armor are also simplified. I suspect theres a 'pool' of points that can be allocated between spellcasting, focus, and mobility, which is dictated by the percentages of what you're wearing- which essentially means there is some combinations of stats that are essentially impossible.
This is why no matter what you do you can't get anymore then two stats at five and the last at three, despite several options of armor not reducing those two fives but in theory should be increasing that level three.

I could be wrong, and there could be oversights, but I'm semi confident that the stats system works like this under the hood more or less.
