"Please perform unpaid QA for a product you paid for"
Only gamers are dumb/obsessed enough to fall for this shiz. Imagine doing unpaid QA/consulting work for literally any other industry, service, or product xD. I get that video game companies take advantage of passionate people and exploit them for free labor, its brilliant. I just dont get why people actually do it lol.
Nah im good chief, ill just wait til you actually fix it, or some modder does.
The official discord is moderated and ran by people employed by Warpfrog (me)
Our QA isnt unpaid, theyre also employed by Warpfrog, creating a bug report shows how often an issue happens so we know how to priorities bugs and issues like these.
if only one person has an issue, it'll be put further down on our "fix it list" than if everyone is having said issue.
You, the player, literally does nothing except describe the issue and gives us a log file.
How is that.. taking advantage of anyone?
how are we mean't to figure out whats causing the issue, if users don't give us, the one thing we made (log files) to figure out the issue
Make sure the Render resolution set in the steam VR settings? Make sure its set to 100% and not Auto as it could be setting it to something very high and thats what could cause it to crash
Out QA will look into it ASAP and hopefully another hotfix patch will come out soon:tm:
#1 - Reinstall Steam VR.
#2 - Right before you play, reboot your PC. Make sure Steam is the only thing running. Force close everything else (including Discord).
#3 - Disconnect your phone from your wi-fi. This might sound weird, but the last time my game crashed was right at the same time as I got a text on my phone. I think it caused a disruption in the communication between Steam and my headset and it caused the game to crash.
The latest patch might have helped, too.
