What? Of course we'll be working on Nomad, it was just *built* for the Quest 2, and we don't plan to do any graphical upgrades for the quest 3.
Nomad will continue to get every update pcvr gets
1, PCVR (steam, Oculus store, Viveport, and probably others)
2, Nomad
3, Arcade (for VR Arcade places)
4, Pico store
5, pico china
Adding a 6th one, would slow development time significantly, because we'd have to do extreme testing from the ground up to make sure the Q3 could handle better physics and graphics. Then if it doesnt work, we'd have to go back, lower it all again, see if it works, and repeat.
*as of right now* there are no plans for a Q3 graphics upgrade, but there maybe a chance of it after 1.0 and its subsequent patches drop
I have a question: I'm thinking about getting a Q3. I currently have a Rift S which is still great, but some games on the meta ecosystem I can't play.
I have the PCVR version of B&S, if I cable link the Q3, do you think it'll run just as well as my Rift S?
Appreciate the quick reply!
Heck I don't even use Wifi 6. I just a 5ghz router ATT provides and it works great! Of course I don't have many neighbors. The only reason to use 6 is if you have a lot of neighbors that use wifi and it's congested.
Oh well that's good to hear! I just saw some comments about Nomad not getting any updates for the Q3 and I assumed that meant it was a dead version. Of course no optimization/graphical updates to the Q3 still makes that version obsolete compared to just using the Steam version via wifi.
This means maybe 2.0 if they use that naming convention (cause previously they were saying things like u12) we get graphical updates, granted, they specifically mentioned it would be after 1.0 and is patches so I wouldn't expect it very soon
I started years ago with Google Cardboard, then Gear VR, Oculus Rift CV1, Quest, Quest 2, and now Quest 3. Quest's with virtual desktop were a game changer for me. You have no idea how being attached to wires ruins immersion until you've played wirelessly.
I own both PCVR B&S, and B&S Nomad. I've been a fan since the earliest demo was put out. I am talking pretty bare bones back in the day. Now I can take my Q3, go out to a large park across the road, and play Nomad in a soccer field during the daytime. I am careful of course with optics and sunlight, but it tracks everything just fine. Playing B&S pcvr at home through Virtual Desktop is also awesome, but having moded B&S mobile at a park is truly amazing.
