New to vr , some questions.
I want to step into the vr world but not sure what i need.
My pc i7 4.2ghz 16 gb ram rtx3060ti 1gb ssd
Games i want to play are blade and sorc. pavlov bloodtrail etc.

First , can my pc handle vr ?
Do all vr sets need all these sensors around the place or are there also vr sets with none or minimal sensors ?
My budget is like $600.

please some advice. thnx !

your pc should be fine, assuming its a newer i7

not all vr sets need base stations, only PCVR only (index, vive, pimax, etc)

Considering the games you mentioned, HP Reverb might not be the best choice, as the tracking seems to be miserable from what i've heard.
Personally, i have a Valve Index and i have no complaints. But i never played with any other headset, so i have no comparison.

And a humble opinion on a topic that is bound to come up: having a cable on your headset isnt that bad, i don't know if it's wise to make that a top priority when choosing a headset.

I also run cyberpunk on ultra and maintain 0ver 80 fps with raytracing on low at 1440. I have no idea what CPU you have though. Saying "I7" isnt enough info. That could be an older gen I7, but you're likely fine.

You can absolutely run vr with that rig.

You should get a quest 2. it is by far the most accessible headset and the best thing you can possibly get for under 600 dollars. It is the most compatible with steam vr as well. Most games work flawlessly with oculus controllers.

i7007f , does the quest come with its own controllers ?

Hahah no problem!
so the size of the Quest 2 doesnt really matter unless you plan on getting a lot of games just on the quest 2.
I had the 64gb and never used a single bit of it.
With that said, to connect a Quest 2 to your PC to play PCVR (VR games on the PC) you need one of 3 things, 1, airlink (wireless) 2, Link (wired) and 3, Virtual desktop (wireless but better)
you can get any Q2 version and play anythin on the PC as long as you have one of those 3 things

as for the classes, you CAN indeed use it, im not sure if the q2 comes with glasses spacers, but i know you can buy them for suppperrr cheap

That link (wired) is a cable that plugs into your pc and then into the vr glasses ? its sold seperatly or is it included ?
Wired is prob the best way togo , wireless gives lag and delay i guess ? , wich kills the gameplay

so its the occulus quest 2 with the controllers that i need ?

The Link cable is.. not provided but any USB-c to USB-c cable works just fine.
in fairness, Virtual Desktop actually worked better for me than a link cable, so its a lot of trial and error honestly.

Yup, any quest 2 from the oculus store will give ya what you need :D

I dunno if i can agree here. Especialy after playing B&S i wish i would not have a cable. I got not much experience in vr so if you tell me quality is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ without cable i would obviously also agree on the cable. But given the fact that i jump around the room like a monkey when i play B&S the cable has become my Archenemy. I step on it. I stumble. When i do 180/360 i trap myself. I cannot jump. Cannot backsteb. It's miserable.

However B&S is literaly the only game with these issues. Everything else is fine with a cable.

I can show you videos. The cable is absolutely not in the way at all. Connection is more stable using the cable and there is much less input lag

How do you do a 360 spin attack or even 720 without messing with the cable? Spinning is basicly the biggest issue i have with the cable and i haven't found a solution for it. I also fail to see any reasonable solution for it except a wireless Headset.

I know you don't need to do spinning attacks to kill mobs. But i like the dancing.

You know the controllers have analog sticks right? You're supposed to incorporate both real movement and analog stick movement. Thats what MOST people do. MOST people dont have the space to do a 360 spin irl.

Also, the cable is not in the way at all. You're assuming I can't do stylish, accurate kills, so that tells me you simply haven't seen my videos lol. I do MOST of my big turns using the analog. I simply look left to right sometimes with the headset. You can have the cable wrapped around you in a way where it isnt in the way at all. Also, like I said, input lag is lessened + tracking is better using an actual cable.

I have the space to do 360 and i am using it. I am not assuming anything in regards to your playsytle or skill wether it is stylish or not and i did not hinted anything in that direction either.

infact i just asked you how you do a 360 spin with a cable and the answer is. You don't. You use analog stick incorporated. Ya okay but when you actualy do 360 spins then you will see that the cable is indeed a problem.

Btw this is not your thread. Nothing wrong in doing videos and share em with the community i actualy did the same already. But it is rude to use the threat of someone to boost your ego.

I totally see your point and i don´t think it´s not a nice thing to be wireless. But with a cable:
-you have much more options regarding headsets (and don´t basically HAVE TO use the one from this one soulless and evil James-Bond-villain-company that sells headset on dumping prices right now to basically monopolize the VR-market and we´ll see how that plays out 10 years from now)
-you have no issue with batteries running out
-you have better connection and less lag, i am told (thx xShapelessx)
-you will not be bothered greatly because you cannot spin and jump around without brusing/breaking your fingers in a normal appartement. However, if you do have the space to basically ignore the analogue sticks and just move through a dungeon in real life, well, that´s a different story...
Hence, running cabelless might be a plus, but it´s not THAT important to most players.
I guess. It´s not important to me, anyway.
