Since you can't be bothered to read (your loss) here's an important snippet from the page which hopefully helps make you appreciate the benefits of Nomad for what it adds to PCVR:
"...if the game can run well on the Quest 2, it will also run well on PC. And with U10, that proved the case! All the optimization we did for the Quest 2 benefited the PC version. Most PCVR performance issues are fixed thanks to this and the game never ran so well, so it’s been a win/win."
Before you say something like "performance isn't a problem for my gaming PC" - I have a beast of a rig but I still appreciate the performance improvements and optimisations. Any "spare" power left over allows for further details and expansion down the line.
I think Nomad is only a good thing for B&S PCVR
PCVR is the leader, as always, and the Quest version will be a sister game that will try it's best to follow PCVR, but only if technically possible. If it's not technically possible for Quest, well then that will suck but will not stop PC. An example of this right now is Nomad has no Citadel.
The Quest game supports mods 100% the same as PC; same easy installs, etc.
No roadmap changes for PCVR. The PCVR is the leader as I said, and Quest will get updates later, once they are stable on PC. So Nomad will have less incremental versions than PC as PCVR is the 'master'.
We thought of everything because it is near and dear to our hearts. So please read the news to quell any apprehensions that this might impact PCVR.
The good news the game is not going to be "dumbed down"! (nobody bothers dumbing down dead product!)
Apparently, you didn't read what The Baron wrote nor did you click on the link to read what it says there.
In dubio pro reo!
We can start complaining when the game IS being abandoned/watered. Right now, they have just pushed out a major update for PCVR.
Also, from my past experience, this is the one developer that i trust when he says PCVR development will go unhindered. They always have been honest until now.
Also, Quest is the inferior platform and will put severe limitation to a game like this, being quite heavy on CPU (not exactly the Quest´s strength), so PC is where they can make this game shine. The Quest version will be a dull copy.
But of course Quest 2 is a big market and they (the developers) need to get their bills paid. What would you do in their place?
I have quite bad experiences myself from Onward opening up for Quest (Quest 1, that is!). But right now i trust Warpfrog not to make the same mistakes. They did take the first step right, to make the Quest version a standalone (not crossplay as in Onward).
Why did you revive an 8 month old post to say this? Crossbuy is something some developers choose to turn on, and some developers choose not to have it. The PC version can be played via the Oculus SDK or through steamVR, but no matter which PC platform you buy it on (steam or oculus PC store) you'll need to buy Nomad separately on Quest.
It's pretty clearly stated if the game you're buying is cross-buy over on Oculus, btw.
