Because unlike say an FPS, in this game you must twist your body, throw custs from angles not possible when sitting etc.
I actually played it seated the other night as I was testing some stuff, it just doesn't work. You cannot swing your arms properly, you can't turn your body at all, you cant duck attacks as easily because you have to lean forward in your chair etc.
Basically what all this means is, if they were to add a seated mode, then there are many more layers of accessiblity that need to be tacked on for the seated users, so they can do everything that a standing user can.
I'm all for accessibility in VR, if it makes sense. Unfortunately a seated mode with B&S would probably cause more problems than it solves.
the game is more of a playground than anything else. seated mode does not take away from that. ducking, dodging and swinging seated is all possible with slight concessions. If someone wants to play seated at the cost of making the game a little harder, so be it. Options never hurt anybody. They don't have to advertise the game for seated. If they really wanted to they can give a disclaimer when switching that the best experience is standing.
It doesn't even take much. at the very least they can allow you to input your own height like literally every other vr game
Still got the bruises....
I guess a manual height adjustment could be added for seated play, sure will be limited but better than being half your height.
Honestly. that is almost all it would take and maybe a crouch button
Many games are inside a program called VRChat along with 'Sword Fighting' and it has a seating mode.
There are many sword games you can play seated just fine, depends on how the game works. Given how you must move your arms to get enough force ect in this game, I don't see the point, sure you can sit in the chair and wave your sword, but that's not really what this game is about.
