Blade & Sorcery

Blade & Sorcery

Should I buy this game or Gorn?
I'm torn between the two. This game looks absolutely amazing and seems more in tune with my dream of joining the Assassins Creed, but Gorn looks more polished and has more content (as well as more violence and gore). I've seen in the reviews that this could possibly be better than Gorn after some updates. Should I take the gamble and buy this game?

I own both and I personally like this one better. There's just a few things to keep in mind for both. B&S has REALLY satisfying combat (better the gorn I think) BUT Gorn does currently have more content. So it is really up to preference but the combat of this game is unlike any other vr game I've played. It just feels so damn good. (that is what she said)

This game appeals to a very particular type of VR player. Do you find yourself bothered by weightless weapons or "wiggle sword" style combat? If not, then I think you won't care about what makes this game good. If you read the reviews, comments on the combat are typically bipolar - Either best thing ever or worst thing ever. IMO it's the best melee implementation in VR to date.

But Gorn has been in development for 2 years and B&S only 2 months, so Gorn has way more content right now because that game is closer to completion. If the Early Access journey bothers you (such as getting piecemeal content in updates) then my advice is to wait. It's just a combat sandbox right now with 3 maps. If EA doesnt bother you and you hate wiggle sword games, then B&S.

I also own both and I think both are worth owning but if I had to pick it would be B&S. I have 40+ logged on this game. I usually play at least 20-30min a day.

both are good, both are worth owning considering the low price points. This one I enjoy more. Has more of a future also, Gorn hasn't really had any developments to speak of in the past year and a half (added very minor things). This game seems to have a brighter future, and already has an interesting mod community.

Gorn is currently a complete mess. Their last update basically completely broke the game for ALOT of people and they are scrambling to fix it.

Right now, all the content in the world doesnt mean anything if it doesnt run stable enough to play it.

B&S all the way!

This game is better. By far.

Gorn is a more complete and polished product, and in my opinion, more fun and satisfying, albeit not realistic. Gorn is my personal preference.
However I definitely think this game is worth getting and definitely has huge potential given a year or two. If you prefer more realistic and in deph combat mechanics, then go with B&S. If you prefer dumb fun, and DOOM style non-stop action, go with Gorn.

After purchasing both I'd have to say Blade and Sorcery even if it has a long way to go. Gorn was fun at first but the pool-noodle weapons and and enemies just didn't make for a very exciting experience.

There is absolutely NO reason to get Gorn over B&S. Therefore there is no reason to get Gorn. Gorn is much less polished and realistic. Gorn is by far the worst VR title out there.

nah man gorn has its place, i mean i would sooner let a ten year old play gorn in pinata mode then let them start getting a feel for getting there sword stuck in somwbody's head

Worst VR title? Definitely not. I can understand somebody liking B&S over Gorn, but calling Gorn the worst is just dishonest.

And both are simple arena games still.

That's true. But some day B&S will be a dungeon crawler (planned in the roadmap). However it is a long way away so I wouldn't recommend anyone get the game right now if that is the only thing they like about it.

I'm just waiting on a fully realized VR rpg or action game to come out
