Claymore blade edge alignment problem
I'm a practitioner of Historical European Martial Art, mainly longsword of Liechtenauer tradition and I absolutely love this game. The claymore, being the closest thing to a longsword, is my go-to weapon in game. However some of the most frequently used cuts in real life is nearly impossible to do in game, one of which is the Zwerchhau, or "crosswise strike". In real life this is done by switching your dominant hand to a thumb grip and swing side to side like a helicopter blade, often in rapid successions, lightning fast cuts of left-right-left-right pattern. In game however, using HTC vive, it simply does not register those wrist / grip changes (most of the time you see your in-game hands do a wonky wrist rotation) and I end up slapping my opponent with the flat. I wonder if there is a way, for example, pushing a botton to rotate the sword grip by 90 degrees, or toggle to automatically keep the edge aligned to the enemy when the sword is swung.

Love your game btw, keep up the good work.

Under physics, toward the bottom there is a multiplier for rotation spring or something to that effect, which, when turned to a higher value, will make all weapons more responsive, probably solving your problem.

I figure it shouldn't be to hard to at least orient the edge always in the direction your headset is facing because there are already mechanics for that with the kick and locomotion.

thanks for the suggestion, i managed to get the blade edge to align but the wrist animation is still fked, since the game thinks it's impossible to grip the sword that way. My character looks like a puppet with extra chromosomes but oh well, as long as i get to slay enemies...

yea i had problems with that attack also...turing up the rotation responsiveness made it feel more realistic for me....overall the claymore seems to be a bit slugish compaired to the real life counterpart.

true that. the sword just doesnt accelerate fast enough and it also does not slice the opponent. You can place the blade on your opponent's neck use it like a handsaw but it doesnt even break the skin.
