Is a NON-VR version even a consideration for this game?
No offense, but VR (in the very near future) will be part of huge lawsuits due to the fixed focal length damage to the eye muscles (not specific to this game just VR in general).

Yes people know it says (only use VR for "X" length of time) before taking it of and letting your eyes adjust.................but you know ...........little bobby will just play all day.

So, as I enjoy my vision...........I don't do VR...........so, any chance for a Non-VR version?

Kind regards, game looks like fun.

No one is gonna get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sued for playing to much VR

No no...........it won't hold up but someone will sue over vision loss.........even though you are not supposed to wear VR all day...........the point is.................wearing VR all day WILL damage your eyes..................hence I would like a non-vr version of the game.............like they added for Bridge Commander STARTREK.

A non-VR will never be considered because it simply would be impossible. :) Using a controller would mean the attacks are simple animations (like Skyrim for example) or at the very best it could be something more complex like Kingdom Come, but overall it would completely defeat the purpose of what this game does so well. It's just one of those things that has to be VR to make sense due to the freedom of motion VR offers.

you're a responsible boy right? don't blame VR for the damage to your eyes, blame yourself if you can't regulate yourself with playing VR. also why all the "............." just confusing.

Yes it's probably not a good idea to play VR for 12 hours a day, but VR isn't going to damage your eyes either. The worst it could give (as far as we know) is eye strain and fatigue, as the tech gets better this could die down. Focal point damage should be non-existant as your focal point is many meters away in the 3D space of whatever you are playing, not 1in from your eyes.

Ruin your eyes? What? If anything VR IMPROVES your eyes...
Unless you're under the age of 8 (in which case you shouldn't even be here) where your eyes are still developing, there's no danger at all...

And to answer the question: No...

My mam used to threaten "square eyes" from playing too much Nintendo as a kid. Brought back some memories there, lol.

Good lord, now I have to go back to the Vermintide forums and and take back some poor soul's "Stupidest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ post Ive seen in a long time" award so I can give it to you, OP.

I was quite sure they'd end up keeping it. Never had to take back one once it was awarded, before, that'll prove to be an awkward conversation, I'm sure.

As long as you're an adult with fully developed eyes and no preexisting eye conditions, you'll be fine. Like anything, you just need to take a short break every hour or so. Reading a book for too long is also very bad for your eyes. It's about moderation. Staring at a computer screen for 6 hours will probably have the same affect as staring at a VR screen for the same amount of time. In my experience, even after an 8 hour long VR gaming session, my vision had no negative affect afterward.

Does VR technically damage your eyes after long sessions? Of course it does! But every screen you look at does too. It's not just VR, if you've ever stared at a display of any kind for a long time, you've technically damaged your eyes. Not playing VR isn't protecting your eyes if your alternative is playing games in non VR. They both damage eyes after long durations. Even if you decide not to ever look at a computer or TV screen again, you can still damage your eyes from other things too! Reading (especially in the dark) is also very bad for your eyes. People have damaged their vision long before modern times, so if you think VR is the worst things for your eyes -- you're very wrong.

there would be literally no point to this game without VR.

go play chivalry, mount and blade or kingdom come deliverance.

there are tons of fantastic melee combat games on PC.

the entire point to this game is how good the melee works in VR.
