Soundpad crashing Steam when in SteamVR

Heya! Im having a really troubling issue and Id love to hear any ideas?

As of recently I've had this issue where if i open Soundpad while using VR. The moment the Steam overlay opens in vr it crashes Steam entirely but soundpad stays open. Now what used to happen is that if i restarted my pc it'd fix the issue no problem but that doesn't work anymore. Any ideas? Im a little stumped here. For the record i am on the Beta branch but this happened on the new one too.

Thank god im not the only one

since 2.8.5 of steam vr i got a insta crash so i was taking the previous version but after the next update its not working anymore

THANK GOD IM NOT ALONE EITHER. It's been driving me insane for weeks now. Whatever Steam did to there dashboard its not working well!

Hi. Random user here who just had the same problem. Needed to reinstall windows to fix a seperate tech issue. Upon reinstalling all software at latest versions (save for steamvr, i had that set to prev), i started experiencing this issue.

What fixed it was discarding the steam version entirely, and using the standalone variant from the website. I would use the trial to see if it works for your setup before you rebuy
