In-game Overlay Option

Can we please have an in-game overlay to play sounds without tabbing out of the game window. That would make this software almost perfect then for my purposes and many others as well.

An overlay is a nice feature, but we don't plan to implement one. The overlay subject is very complicated, has lots of side effects and is heavily error-prone. Making mistakes can crash the underlying game. Anti-Cheat measures could consider the overlay as cheat. There will be trouble with multiple overlays and most games you run on Steam already use the Steam overlay. And then there is the struggle with different DirectX interfaces (and their peculiarities) and incompatibilities to certain programs of all the different graphics cards. This is a domain for itself and just beyond our capabilities.

Overwolf do not recognize the overlay as a OW trusted app. Not working for me.

This could easily be a reason for me to request a refund for this Software as it is incredibly useful but the use of Categories is unbearable without a visual cue like an overlay. It is an essential feature and if you need any help with its development, I volunteer to help. I truly hope Soundpad becomes a leader in these soundboard apps and such, and for that, you need to do what really pleases the community.

If soundpad developers doesn't feel able to develop an overlay for any reason, they could at least develop a plugin interface so that community members could make something like it.
'Sound categories' is really useful for reusing key shortcuts for different audio effects, but becomes completely useless if someone has only one display and plays using fullscreen game settings

This is exactly the way I currently use it, and I wholeheartedly agree with you.

U just make a hotkey to the sound u want

This, but the big issue is that there's an awesome feature where you can have categories and also switch them with a hotkey, but you can't see them while in-game, so you have to alt-tab or have them in a second screen so you see which category you have selected. An overlay is a pretty much essential feature and it baffles me that the devs are simply negligent about it. It's just laziness, to be honest.
