Soundpad
[Known Bug] Freezing when audio file is moved.
This bug has been around for almost a year now and is annoying. Please a simple 1 line of code should be able to fix this issue... Again has been around for a while would love to see a fix. To make sure everyone knows what it is and how to replicate it here you go:
Step 1: add any audio file
Step 2(optional): Play the file see that it works.
Step 3: Move the audio file to a different folder.
Step 4(maybe optional?): restart soundpad
Step 5: Try to play that same audio file again(notice how it freezes and you have to ctrl alt delete to force close soundpad)
again 1 line of code should be able to fix the issue...

The only thing I get is a "file not found error" in the status bar and the entry in the sound list will be marked red and text is striked through.
Would you like to create a troubleshoot report from Soundpad (Help -> Troubleshooting) and report a bug on their website https://www.leppsoft.com/soundpad/help/bug/ with a reference to this discussion?

I followed your description with all possible optional steps combinations and Soundpad did not freeze. There must be something special to your case. I've tested it with files in my local system.
I replicated the issue perfectly again. Again looks like it tries to run the input stream without testing if the file is actually there. When I try to close it soundpad jumps to 38% CPU usage and steam starts to run very slow(takes forever to type something).

This was one of the most awful bugs as it is on the list for over a year now, but we couldn't reproduce it. All the time it seemed to be an issue with the check if the file exists, as this check was the major blocking part of the playback procedure.

So, thank you very much for sending us the video. It showed, what settings and steps are necessary to reproduce it.

The massive CPU consumption is also clear now. Soundpad just tries to play the next sound file in the list too quickly. Before the sound list is redrawn to show that the file is missing, Soundpad attempts to play the next file. And if every file in the list doesn't exist and Soundpad is configured to repeat the list, then it comes to this freeze. The stop button can't do anything, too, as it only stops the current playback, but there never is a playback.

After all, the patch makes the stop button and the stop hotkey more reliable to also stop the freeze. The sound list will always update correctly before playing back the next file and the playback of an entire list will stop when trying to repeat a list with every file missing.
