2) This is intentional: Volume regulations.
3) Soundpad automatically installs on your default device, which is super easy in most setups. And the volume thing is clarified in point 2.
1) I cannot unmute myself during playback, can I? For example, the music plays and I want to speak over it. There is no "mute/unmute mic" button, which is what I'm talking about.
2) that's sad
3) the volume at which the music track plays is ruining the track usually, as it silences the loud parts and loudens the silent parts. That ruins any music I play through Soundpad. And it all is tied to measuring your voice EVERY TIME you change the mic (seriously?!).
WHY don't you allow simple "press play - control volume via slider - mute/unmute yourself any time WITHOUT pausing a track" behavior is beyond me
3) You can turn off dynamic volume adjustment in Soundpad (File -> Preferences -> Audio -> Fixed volume adjustment) and play sounds in their original volume. Depending on filter settings like reduce background noise and automatic gain options in the target voice application your sound might be transmitted very poorly in particular regarding high volume changes in the sound file itself. Means quiet parts might get filtered out completely, loud parts may hit the auto gain threshold and as such increase at which level quieter parts are filtered out.
It is tied to measure your voice volume once. Like if you install your headset and then set up your microphone level in windows once and adjust your settings in the voice application once. So, you make the same once in Soundpad.
As explained in detail in the linked Volume regulations: you are not supposed to change the volume for other people, at least not with a direct slider.
