if that were the case. I was not getting any info in the combat log and above my character. also everything in that room was dead. I was exploring around then just died.

Judging from the screenshot you appear to have stepped on a "Deathly Void" tile, which deals HP damage to you anytime you move on it.

Just avoid them next time or, better yet, build a bridge to safely move across. :)

I will look into why the Deadly Void damage wasn't appearing in the log.

yeah I wasn't getting any indication of damage in the combat log and above my character. wans't paying attention to my health so I was running around all willy nilly til I died. also when I reloaded my character was alive and well.
