Controller Not Detected (PS4 on PC)

I'm using a PS4 controller connected via USB. No matter what I do, it isn't detected at all. What I've tried.
- With and without Big Screen mode.
- With and without DS4Windows
- Directly on my PC and indirectly using Steam Link
- Hardwired controller on Steam Link and using BlueTooth mode
- Running as admin mode
- Two different PS4 controllers in all of the above configurations

- Windows 10 / NVidia GeForce GTX 980 latest patches

Controller works everywhere else. Works in Big Picture mode without trouble and stops working as soon as Tangledeep starts.

I have had no issues at any sort with any other game that even partially support controllers.

Can you try launching the game directly from the steamapps folder, with Steam closed? Also, check to make sure you have no interfaces or overlays running (for example, streaming interfaces, broadcasters, shadowplay etc) just to eliminate factors.

Yes - starting from steamapps with "Overlay disabled" *does* work. Starting with "Overlay disabled", but from Steam or Steam-Big-Picture does *not* work, though.

(Also, unrelated, a startup option of "-skipconfig" would be nice - those config pop-up screens on start can be awkward to use in Big Picture mode.)

Additionally - leaving the Steam overlay enabled, but starting from the steamapps directory *still works*. Doesn't look like a Steam or overlay issue.

A execution path problem that's different when starting through steam vs. directly via steamapps?

In your Steam settings, go to Controller, then uncheck "Generic Gamepad Configuration Support" under general settings. We use an input plugin called "Rewired" and according to the dev, this option causes a lot of problems.

I've checked. I only have "Guide Button Focuses Steam", and "PS4 Configuration Support" selected. 15 minute time-out, and PS4 Controller and Razer Orbweaver Chroma detected.

Turning off "PS4 Configuration Support" seems to fix the problem also. That's not something I'm willing to leave turned off (I use it all the time), but hopefully that helps you track down the issue.
