[Spoilers] Can't kill Architect

So, I'm trying to collect all the coins, and the only one that seems to be missing requires the architect's key to enter. The problem is, I can't kill him. Even in the initial talk with him, if I say I'm going to kill him, he just starts following me around. I've tried getting him killed on the escort mission, but he just face tanks two demons at once with no issues. Once he's back in the main hub, I can say I want to kill him, but all he does is reply that he'd "like to see me try" and nothing happens.

I haven't found anything about it online so I'm wondering if it's a new bug. Anyone have any suggestions on how else to get the architect's key?

Edit: I managed to get him killed by upping the world to +12 and just running around avoiding enemies. It still took a while for him to die.

usually bug discussions etc happen on the discord which is why you didnt find anything online probably
