Coop questions
Will your coop partner has the ability to share items from his inventory and will he get separated loot from the host?

However, there's no item trading.

To expand on that what gates are there for allowing us to co-op with a friend? Looking at the Dark Souls series one player had to have completed the boss for an area before they were allowed to join their friends and was more of a mentor system than a real co-op. Will there be gates like this in this game or can I pick up the game with a friend and play online co-op with them straight through the whole game first time and will they get story progress and unlocks as we complete the game together?

It says Co-Op isn't "watered down" for your local Co-op partner. Does that mean playing Co-Op "online" is gonna be disappointing and full of downsides?

How Does COOP Work?
I heard there is a thing called a "Duel hand" that you can place/interact with to PVP, but what of CO-OP? Can you CO-OP with random players using this feature? or is CO-OP restricted to just code match making?

Coming from Dark Souls my favourite thing to do when I need to grind was to help randoms progress. Hopefully this is possible in Hellpoint too.

is there any restrictions with CO-OP/PVP? like you can't summon if.....

the store page doesn't really explain mu ch in detail;

"If you are struggling, ask a friend to press Start to join in a couch coop session, or call for assistance online. The entire game can be completed uninterrupted in coop. The loot is shared, and the experience of local player two is saved and not watered down."

I'm also worried about "the loot is shared" comment. If this game will let you CO-OP with randoms, does that mean they can steal all your loot? or do you simply mean joining a late game player, will allow you to access all of the players older weapons/armour?

Online Coop?
The kickstarter page and older posts from the dev says 'split screen only', but the tags on steam store say 'Online Coop'. I actually really love split screen games, but in the realities of today's COVID world, I really want to be able to play this with friends remotely. So will it support native online multiplayer?

I second that question

On the contrary, I wonder if this is a true coop or if it's just a "summon a ghost of a friend who can like, kinda help" like darksouls (which me and my friend bought and never played due to the limited co-op feature).

In any case, further explanation would be dope. Since the game is on sale already I guess we could expect details.

No... Online or splitscreen get the same experience (except being in the same room)
When we say not watered down, it means you can play the whole game in coop, from the start to finish.

To play with someone, you have 2 ways of doing it;

- Wall hands; You place a sign on a wall. This sign can be blue or red, for coop or duel. This hands shows up in other player's game and they can interact with it to come help you or kick your ass.

- Match code; in the online tab, each player has a match code. Giving that 8-digits code to someone else allow them to join your game. When they input the code, they are given an option to join you as coop or duel. Match code are refreshed anytime you restart the game.

When we say "loot is shared", it means that if you pick an item, the coop get it too. If the coop pick an item, you get it too. Same with currency. We know it could create "abuse" of a very high level player carrying you over, but we feel that's what a big brother would do in splitscreen to help his little brother.

That is a nice system, wish dark souls had it, having to do the whole map twice each time is a bother.

Read this other post, someone gave some information.

Awesome! I too never played Darksouls coop because of the tedious systems you have to jump through. Glad to see this will have accessible online coop for casuals!
