Shiny Loot duplicates should offer more than the base rarity increase. I noticed with the Refer a Friend deal that duplicates of Celete's Shiny only upgrade by the 0.2% increase.

While I don't care about getting duplicates from the event, if a Shiny duplicate pops up in a chest, it would be an extreme bummer to get a very modest increase to power. And Shinies are rare enough as it is.

Although it's undocumented on any wiki at this time, having Shiny status on an equip slot gives it a 50% boost. You get 97.5% base instead of 65% base for the Leather Gauntlets. If you had a higher rarity beforehand, that rarity now has a 50% boost. This also makes sense in how Golden Epics are essentially a 100% boost on Epics.

I think she meant that she had Shiny Gauntlets already and all she got from the new ones was a 0.2% increase.

Oh right. Duplicate Shinies would really suck to get, but it would also be extremely unlikely to get out of an incentive like this. What I would like is to be able to have a 50% chance to reroll a Shiny dupe for another Shiny.

Or Silver Shiny + Silver Shiny = Golden Shiny.

But those are paid-only.

Still, the chances of getting duplicate silvers in chests increases continually.

You could also have a Shiny dupe grant a large additional bonus to the equip, like +250 to level.

probably should just remove the possibility of getting duplicate shinies. they are rare enough as is. if you increase the bonus you just give a higher incentive for people to make more accounts during events that reward shinies.

Yeah, or increase the rewards for obtaining a shiny that you already have.

I still like the tiered content. X Silvers = Golden. X Golden = Whatever.

It always gives you a bigger goal to work towards, and never invalidates duplicates.

duplicates can and do happen. confirmed by developers.. and it works as we have seen by this weekend's even.t the base rarity is what is added.

so leather shiny is +2 levels (0.2%) increase if duplicated.

IIRC its like 1/1000 chests atm to get a shiny naturally. its super super rare. and yeah duplicates hurt

You only get a Shiny item once per slot from just opening chests.

The only way to get a duplicate Shiny is to already have the equipment as Shiny, and then get another one through something like DLC or the recruit a friend promotion.

Since one Shiny turns the entire equipment slot Shiny, then duplicate gear for the slot just provides normal percents for being broken down.

Just to be clear -

1) You're saying that it's impossible to gain duplicate shiny loot through normal treasure chests?
2) You're saying it is possible to gain duplicate shiny loot through bonus DLC / promotion?
3) You're saying it is possible to gain duplicate gold shiny loot through purchased treasure chests?

im confused

is it posisble to have a shiny drop for same slot if we already have shiny for that slot?


it looks to me like you are saying that if the drop happens it will just be regular upgrade nto shiny upgrade so like 0.1 0.4 etc ?

or is that slot removed from othe pool of shiny drops entirely? does that reduce the chnance at dropping because shinies are ignored or does it keep same rate? because if so then massive quantities of chests are a linear method to max out shinies and a decent carrot. .. if not then its a slowly diminshing chance of getting missing shinies

please elaborate :D

That's why I'm asking the questions for clarification. I want it in plain English how the shiny loot system operates. Especially since the Golden Shiny loot is tied to actual real money purchases.

Right now, you get a Golden Weapon if you purchase a chest bundle. If I purchase more than one, can I receive a duplicate Golden Weapon? If so, that's rather off-putting. Can I receive a duplicate Silver Shiny from a regular chest?

As we've discovered, gaining duplicate shiny loot simply means that the innate loot quality is added to your existing item.
