Do you need to complete Avernus to access Mount Tiamat?
Like everyone else I am working through all the Heroes of Aerois. One of them is to defeat Tiamat during trials of Tiamat I have been looking up guides and am confused as to whether or not I need to complete the entire Avernus campaign or not. Any tips or clarification on this point would be appreciated.

Yes, the Trials of Mount Tiamat story is tied into the end of the Avernus campaign. Once you complete that campaign, the Trials thing should appear. You'll need to complete an adventure for that and then the actual Trials will unlock.

How do you know if you're ready for Trials? I've got it unlocked, but it's like really hard, right? I know, https://www.reddit.com/r/idlechampions/comments/powmaw/gaarawarrs_guide_to_the_trials_of_mount_tiamat/

Base difficulty level is not hard, if you can get a full team of 5 players, and all can complete at least area 125 then you should finish easily.
For comparison, I didn't want to mess up anybody run, so my first attempt at Trials was base difficulty solo. I managed to finish that first attempt with only 2 hours to spare and it was a lot of work.
For my second run, again base difficulty, I joined a full 5 player team and we only had to finish the day 1 quest and we actually finished the whole trial in 3.5 days, with very little effort.

Nah, it's not hard on the lower difficulties. You should be able to solo the Normal difficulty Trial if you really want to. I think a total base damage of something like e190 will do it if you then complete your adventure each day to get all the bonus DPS available.

But pretty much any group you join will likely have at least two other active people, which is more than enough to make it very easy. Just push far on the first day, then complete your daily adventure as needed after and she'll probably be dead in 3 days or so.
