5th adventure party?
I admit I have not been keeping up with news and discussions on Discord or the forums. I did try a search for this topic but found nothing related so I send out my Q to you all. Has there been any word on the 5th adventure party unlock? I've been checking every day when I complete adventures but still no unlock. Its been a while. Maybe there is some special hoop to jump through? TIA

no 5th party, they added a 5th Patron

Considering how well background/offline parties do, I don't think we're losing out on much by only having four.

And the SNAFU after introduction of the fourth party.

Most of us do -- with over 100 champions, there's flexibility for ~10 parties. But given how poorly optimized Idle Champions is, it's doubtful there'd be any benefit to running even a single additional party. And it's not like background parties are all that valuable in the first place.

IIRC, it took CNE more than a year to clear bugfest created by the introduction of the fourth party. The next one will probably take them 3-5 years. No, thank you.

Yeah, I already unlocked Elminster. That is mainly why i was asking about the 5th adventuring group. I use them primarily to do the patron challenges and adventures while my main party does whatever its doing at the time.

yup, i just use the background parties to slowly do patron stuff. Every now and again something gets messed up with one and it gets stuck, but typically i can do about 2-3 a day,, (350-400 areas per mission, I have a bit to go where it will just be one.)

I use one to do my Elminster variants. With a large pot and about 4 medium ones, I can get most quests done in an hour.

But when not at the computer for longer periods, I disable all three background parties and only let my active farm run. Even if I can only prevent one crash every so often, that's still more gain than having background parties crawl through the night.

It's possible Windows adds to the instability and triggers a crash/freeze but until I can pinpoint that issue, all I can do is limit factors.

Still, I think it's purely game related. Either there's a memory leak or there's something else creating a perfect storm. It rarely occured early in my game but kept increasing as time went by.

The problem with an active farm is that even if it only crashes once every 8 hours, when that's the first half hour of your night, all the rest of those hours count for nothing.

From my own experience, the game is relatively stable now if it is manually restarted 2-4 times a day. When I was in a hospital, I left it running for 2 days, and it did not crash. Memory footprint afterwards was around 4 GB.

I was checking mine and it starts <2GB and in some hours climbed up to 3.5GB.

Not sure how high it can go before running into issues. When swapping between teams, it increases fast.

In that case, there was no swapping because I was afk.

I mean, my computer's old enough that some of its components may be able to legally drink and watch adult movies, and this is the only game that, even when set to lowest settings possible, still manages to crash and freeze often.

On the other hand, I've been playing Tekken 8, Starfield and other games my computer shouldn't be able to handle, and they don't crash or freeze, as long as I don't try to run them at "super uber ultra high mega" quality settings - which involve a lot of graphical artifacts I don't want to deal with anyways. Damn kids with their dograys and motion slurs!

Yes, sometimes it's the computer's fault, but from my point of view, this is not such a situation.

I set it to 1280x720 last night. Disabled all three background parties and reset.

I ran around 1.5GB when I shut the monitor off and this morning the farm was still running consuming just around 2GB. I'm going to try again tonight and see if that does the trick or if last night was just one of those lucky ones.

To add; I just set the resolution back, quit the farm and changed to TomT and am already at 3.5GB. Setting up a second party brings it almost to 4GB. 3rd and I'm up to 4.5GB.

If it increases some more and then Windows being windows decides to run/update/check something, it might probably freeze.

From what I get the game's memory optimisation is slow/late so I installed an optimizer that will automatically free memory below a certain %. That'll do the trick I guess.

What motherboard do you have? what kind of ram are you running? You might be able to add a couple of sticks really cheap if you have an older comp.
