And they are pretty massively overpriced IMO
Totally agree with this. Also depends on how you view the expenditure...i spent $90 or so dollars on the last AAA game i bought, and got about 20 hours play, have spent about half that on this game and have around 2000 hours in it.
just don't be tempted to go overboard and buy lots of shiny things just because
Getting to 6 so you get the auto distraction killing is pretty strong especially at the start of the game.
So getting 1-2 extra familiars and supporting the game is your best bet early on.
2) There are specific items for specific characters that HUGELY benefit from having a Golden Epic applied (which you usually can only buy) but that you can leave for much later as you probably don't even have those heroes.
3) There are a few heroes that will be relatively hard to get/equip because they are from Year 1 and are getting phased out so if you REALLY wanted to support CNE you could buy the character which usually comes with chests and other item. IMHO not worth it, but that's your choice
It is nice you are thinking of supporting the devs though, so early on. I agree with other replies. Familiars first.
Don't do what I did and buy Black Viper...(even though she's my fav character in DnD, she has limitations/caps in the game) Although I don't regret buying her...I just mean, play the game before you decide anything too in depth or expensive.
After awhile, say a month, you will know what's good for you. Familiars at first can also be bought in game with Gems, (the mage hand) so I would personally buy that first, see what they do then buy whatever tickles your fancy. (and is within your price range)
