why should I even push z1000?
So I started late Nov23. That's 3 months of playing.

By now I have my 4 groups and finished most of Fortune's Wheel ("hard" 0,1% achievements). Currently I am in a state of just cleaning up easy variants. I never used guides much. Now I am reading about people pushing z1000 walls and pushing their walls non-stop. Also doing some crazy Briv runs, where his tokens have to be specific levels and what not.

But why should I even do that? It seems you can do perfectly fine with "basic" game play beating variants and whatnot. What is the reason to push the limit any further??? It seems to me "clean up" everything and then wait for more content is the way to go or am I wrong here?:shelterfrog:

Only basic champ I'm missing is Krux. But I didn't even attempt him yet.

Don't get me wrong, I still have lots of fun building my groups. Just don't see the appeal of going "meta", using any guides or "pushing", when I get 0.1% challenges without. Try to convert me.

Fortune's Wheel's variants aren't the most difficult ones in the game, at least for now. There are also Evil to the Core (target area up to z1375) and All's Well That Ends Well (target area up to z1325 plus nasty restrictions).

There are variants with requirements well over z1000, but some people also find it fun to push the game to its limits and see what you can achieve.

Pushing it made gathering favor for the blessings a whole lot easier for me. And even z1000 doesn't seem to be enough to max all.

Fortune Favor isn't hard at all, just obnoxiously slow.

Heck, I finished Waterdeep, ToA and Frostmaiden before I finished Grand Tour, a campaign being lower on a list doesn't mean it's harder (Frostmaiden was far easier than ToA for me.)

Also, as Derpykat mentioned, there's many variants and even adventures with z1000+ requirements, so it's not just "for the lulz." It has nothing to do with "meta" but with the game being an epic time-wasting grind. Even if you're planning to only do the "adventures" and no variants or patron stuff, you'll still need to get to z1000 and beyond. If breaking four digits zones in a game where both gold and damage can get to the three hundred digits and beyond sounds jarring to you, that's bemusing.

And you don't need Briv at all. I've been doing fine without that town bycicle, there's plenty of other champions that achieve a similar (but slower) effect. My speed formation gets me to z1000, heck, yesterday I left them doing Dynaheim runs to get the last purple gear for her, and when I logged in today, they were at z1130. So in three more months, you may be getting past z1000 without even trying, and wondering why you were looking at z1000 like it was the sourest of grapes. ;)

ehh. I'm not daring z1000 at all. Just the other day I got to 950 in a Xaryxisspace free play over night. It's just not in my priority of things. Only thing left right now are variants and a few Xaryxis story missions. So I figure those z1000 variants must be in Xaryxis or I must have missed a road somewhere.

"Only thing left now."

So, in three months you beat every variant, every patron variant, all the campaigns but Xarxys, did T10 Tiamat. The whole shebang. Without guides, without following the Path of Least Resistance (some people call that "meta") without enough time to have unlocked the number of champions you need to make any of those variants even survivable...

Nice to meet you, then. I'm the ruler of Alpha Centauri, I met Elvis personally and I taught Chuck Norris how to fight.

Hey, it's just as believable a story.

the steam achievement stats are calculated over how many ppl ever installed the game, so that new variants are 0.1% is not because they are hard, but because the game has been out for 6 years, this is more of a general problem on how steam shows stats (like this would look vastly different, if it was calculating on a sliding window..)

Nice to meet you too. Completed first achievement "A brief tour of the realms" on Nov 28. 2023. You can look it up. Want can I say, I just loooove DnD :itsumiichinose:

Of course I did not beat every patron variant! But you must agree on that with the 4th group unlocked things are going crazy fast.

And I'm fairly certain Chuck Norris taught everyone on the world how to fight.

I've played for years. Similar to your strategy, I never pushed too hard, mostly just let it slowly grind in the background.
Now in the late game starts to get difficult.
I'm struggling to break 1000 in Light of Xaryxis.
Right now with the recent addition of the "quests" tab is easier o find some other things to do.
Luckily I saved all those time gate pieces I didn't need, as there is a counter for oipening at least one for each champion. :spellscroll:
I guess I'll be doing that for the next few weeks

I still use my 2+ year old Asharra team as my main team with only two later replacements (Penelope -> Dob, and Ulkoria -> Blooshi). With a full set of Level 10 legendary items, now it can break z2000 in time gates and events with minimal amount of babysitting.
