how do you tell buffs?
I have korth and the game wants me to complete areas with 140 stacks, but how do I tell if there is 1 let alone 140?

Look at the incoming/outgoing buffs section of his 'character sheet' while in an adventure.

Click on the character, then the icon that looks like a circle with several arrows going out. Then find the buff you're looking for (they're sorted by "sorting is dumb" because these devs hate their players,) if the buff isn't listed, it means the character hasn't still unlocked it (level them up some more.)

Good news there is that if Korth has that ability enabled, he has no trouble using it. The only hassle is doing enough levels with him in the team.

If you have Strongheart, one of his upgrades makes it so all things you do that count towards season/milestone/"bonus" quests are doubled - so if you need to complete 500 zones for a mission, it will take you 250 zones to get there. All you need to do is have Strongheart in any party with that upgrade unlocked, even if it's a background party.

And he has a 50k gems feat that doubles that upgrade's effect, so everything you do is counted thrice.

He's the main reason this season has been a breeze to me compared to the previous two seasons I played through. Just like Fen with Patron challenges, unlocking Strongheart was worth it just for that one upgrade.

Via a time gate.

is it worth grabbing him with money, I have been using my fragments to unlock the season chars.

In general, it is not worth to buy champions at all. It is possible to obtain all of them for free in about a year.

The "easy" way to get time gates is to unlock all patrons and buy time gate fragments from them. Don't remember if doing any patron variants is needed to buy the pieces, but you can buy one per week from each. Combined with one blessing that doubles the number of time gate pieces you get from bosses (you can get two every at least five days that way.)

That's how I've been unlocking a new champion every week for a while now. Once you figure out the method, unlocking every champion is not going to require much effort, just time.

Edit: Season are built around the idea of "coming in late? You're screwed!" though. Feeding on the FOMO is how these developers fund their mansions.

Clearing patron challenges is enough to buy 4 time gate pieces and 4 patron chests every week.

hehe yeah, though you need 20 chars to do it wich I'm still short on hehe first patron.

It takes about 1.5 months to unlock the first patron. Hitch + 6 champions from events + 2 champions from free time gates + champions from paid seasonal time gates and codes, and probably Drizzt and Azaka.
