Wich formation between artemis and zorbu

Hi,
i play a formation with birdsong as main DPS, i reached a cap of e220 damage but i think it's time to get a real organized formation.
I watched a video for both formation (zorbu and artemis) and i don't know in wich formation should i invest.
Can you tell me in your opinion, wich formation is better for a begginer/mid game player that want to invest in a first formation.

In the long run, Artemis is still the best. However, post-Season Birdsong is actually better than Zorbu. You can continue using her if you like her.

Keep in mind that Artemis will be potentially altered to some extent in the next Season.

I like Birdsong but as i said, i have reach a cap with her and i can't go futher than e220 and i'm stuck with the tiamat favor ...
That's why i want to try a new formation but i'm a bit lose in the gear mechanic etc ....
For this time i was just playing without thinking about forge and gear but i have the feeling that if i want to push futher in the game i have to get a real formation with good champion/gear !
That's why i'm looking for advice, as i'm not speaking perfectly english, it's a bit difficult to fully understand the video guide about formation :/

Increase ilvl of Birdsong herself and her party. Besides, in the endgame properly constructed core and properly forged legendary items for your main team becomes very important sources of power. For reference, I made a secondary team with Birdsong to deal with seasonal quests. The only champions in the team with some additional ilvl investment were Birdsong herself (ilvl around 700) and Spurt (ilvl 500); most other champions in the team had ilvl around 100, mostly from patron chests. Peak BUD of the team was around e355, and I used it to clear non-patron versions of Coasting to the Finish and Quick or Quack as well as some other recent variants. For comparison, record BUD of my main team with Asharra is around e400.

Ok, so if i resume, i have to use unafilliated core on my main roadster (with birdsong).
I have to use mostly unafilliated champion to fit with the core.
I have to invest in birdsong Ilvl !

Actually my Bordsong Ilvl is 83, do i have to buy gold chest with my gems ?
I have around 320 silver chest, should i wait until i have purple gear before open them or the ilvl i will win with silver are going to stay when i will unlock a purple gear ?

No... silver and gold chests will NOT improve the gear on Birdsong. Those chests only have items for the core/evergreen champions. If you are looking for free (no real money needed) methods of leveling up Birdsong...

You could use Strahd patron currency to buy Strahd patron chests. Those chests will have item levels for all champions that are eligible for play with Strahd and Birdsong is eligible.

You could use time gate pieces to open a Birdsong Time gate. That will get you 3 gold Birdsong chests, and several additional Birdsong silver chests (depends how far you can push).

In February, during the Grand Revel event, you can use event tokens to purchase Birdsong gold chests (10,000 tokens per chest).

Give Birdsong Con +2 and Str +1 feats to make her eligible for Vajra and Zariel chests too.

Keep your eye on the latest patron variants in Witchlight campaign. They are difficult for a newbie. However, clearing them allowed me to double ilvls of eligible event champions without additional ilvl investments. For example, Qilek and Havilar went from about 100 to 210.

Ok, thank you very much for all your advice, idle champion is way more difficult than what i was expect even after almost 400 hours of game.
After your last message something appear clearly for me, it's too early to think this hard about my formation as I didnt even begin te witchlight adventure lol ....
But i will remember to try hard vajra and zariel with birdsong and keep pushing the witchlight adventure (without patron for this moment) as far as i can.

In the early game, focus your efforts on getting proper gem farming party. Steady gem income will make endgame much more easy.
