In third season, starting later today/tonight, four champions over the five had that type of abilities that become stronger for staying at an area (not necesseraly a long time). They are not useless abilities and they work fine at high areas but they surely won't help you much in gem farming and other speed tasks.
With Spurt his ultimate and buff is built up by a longer and longer cool down. That cool down is wasted and you are out the entire timer simply because you changed areas too fast or used a familiar to keep the ultimate on cool down.
I don't mind building up. I dislike a complete unmitigated waste as punishment for going fast or using familiars. I've seen you on the boards and you are really knowledgeable. Anyone who absolutely punishes you like Spurt that I should avoid or look into avoiding? I don't mind the guys who build up. I just don't want to be punished.
I think that quest is going to be my biggest problem this season.
I just checked and the counter moves even when he's in spirit form.
