How do I know if I am ready to move up a level in Trials?
I just dont want to be one of "those" people that gets carried by their team.

Seems like I only ever see the lowest level with openings, is that just because everyone is doing non-public missions or are people just not participating?

Higher difficulties are much more often done as private runs. It takes some time to find decent pick up groups for them.

You need to complete the current level before you can see the next level of the game. Therefore, you can see all the game levels in their entirety only at the highest level of the trial.(The number of games in the trial is related to the time zone and the distribution of players, and I think the game is still dominated by English-speaking countries, especially North America. The number seems to be particularly low during their midnight hours.)

Being carried " sometimes " is not a serious bad thing, because our champions always have moments between the two levels.:BITRAY_CrazyCube:

You don't have to stop your trial when you've completed the objective, especially on day 1, it'll earn you extra favor to push more and you'll see where is your limit. If you can do 150-200 more areas than d1 objective, you may be ready for next tier.

I just finished a public trial at the 'Torment' level. It only took 4 days to complete, but that was because someone else brought along a 100% Jarlaxle to boost our assault team damage.

That was enough evidence to tell me that four people who are "just like me" would not be able to complete an open (public) 'Grand Master' trial. Yes... I know that there are five members of the party, but I always base my projections on having one person in a public party who is a non-contributing leech.

So... I'm going to park at 'Torment' for a while until my Jarlaxle or Makos have grown a lot more than their current 15%. Once I feel like I am ready to climb into the 'Grand' trials, I will probably go to Discord and look for a private party to join.

I've done up to Grand Master. Seen several times when someone brings a 15-20% Jarlaxle. . . sigh. If I see that before joining I just don't. It's just too easy to waste your own time having a champion tied up when you know it'll either go the whole week to either fail it or just barely make it. So frustrating.

I want to try Grand Legends. I think my champions are ready, but I fear this is the limit of PUGs and I probably need to find a group to join to go further. My Jarlaxle is at 65%, which is another reason to think this is about as far as I should go until I can get to >100%. Sooooo many more chests to go.

An example of a good random party on the highest difficulty. IIRC, it took me one or two hours to find it.

yes, pick up groups are fine just have to be a bit picky. I've not failed an exalted pick up yet. Could just be luck i suppose. Wouldn't worry about your i levels as long as you can hit the daily target you are fine - just make sure you get in a group that is maxing assault buff.

if you start, for example, a trial where 1st day require 500 zone and you can reach zone 700+ - you can move on to a next tier.
You have to be able to do at least 4-5 days, means +100-125 zones from day 1 goal. Plus some reserve as you can get some of your champions unavailable, so you'll have to use not the best party.

Well that certainly makes sense and works very well.

Thanks for this.

It can be hit or miss. I am that guy. Doing a Grand Master and I put up the 9.76% Jarl. Another guy put up a 197.7% Makos. The bonus max is 100%. I am 2nd highest DPS and we are on day 3-4(3 people have not done their 4th trial yet) doing 12,977 DPS collectively. 3 days and 18 hours to go. We smashed it and it will finish early. I created the trial and it was all pug. I'll go Grand Legends next.

Ganwarr had a guide up somewhere that said Grand Legends need an averaged 10k dps for the entire group. Again that is an averaged number and you don't start on day 1 at 10k so you have to go above that to get an average of 10k throughout. Can't remember how old the guide was so I hope it is still accurate because that is what I'm basing myself on.

I'm at 3,173 having done 4 trials so far. I can definitely pass the 2k average I'll need. The deciding factor is how many no shows you have. We started day 1 with only Wis 10+ champs can be used and nobody quit. We banging it out like rock stars. The 197.7% Makos as expected is top dps but he is sitting below me at 2,521. The makos has not done their 4th trial yet and will pass me when they do.

If you haven't not maxed Zarial yet that patron gives you additional assault damage and it increased my damage by a large amount. Don't miss out on it if you haven't done it yet.
