Champion Spotlight: Farideh, The Tiefling Warlock

Today, we're going to go into detail on our newest Champion: Farideh, the Tiefling Warlock.

Farideh will be available in our first Year Two event: Highharvestide, launching TOMORROW (October 3rd)! I hope this blog will give you all you need to know about our latest champion.

It seems quite nonsensical at first sight that a neutral good character is the Chosen of Asmodeus, but I'm sure there is a very good reason for that, probably explained in the books that I haven't read (yet).

Anyway, she looks "cool as Hell" !

I read info and i think she another useless event hero. 10th slot best hero - Ishi. Best DPS slot - Strix. Makos don't needed if you have Birdsong. In most formations you can't place Farideh behind tank (you can do that only in third campaign). I don't know why devs try to add this hero. Maybe for newbies. Also Stoki not needed too, ishi better.
For devs, add "random formations" mechanic, maybe daily challenges. Most of event chars not needed in current meta. But in some formations you can't use all meta heroes. Maybe other event chars will be useful for this formations.

The retribution effect sounds great at first blush, but it has the obvious problem of how the game currently deals with formation buffs -- you're never going to get them all on more than one character, and the difference from losing just ONE formation buff is the difference between effective and irrelevant. If you focus on Farideh, then your true main dps champion ceases to be relevant (like Strix). If you focus on your dps champion, then Farideh's retribution effect loses any value.

The design of formation buffs have backed this game into an ugly corner. Fixing that is long overdue. Double and triple their ranges while reducing their potency. Replace most formation buff upgrades with generic all-champion upgrades. Do something. The current system is a bad joke.

Looks to me like if you have a formation that focuses on her in the central position for bosses that hit everyone, she can do some insane damage potential when using her Ultimate to deal damage every second. We'll see how it all stacks up but you never know the meta until the numbers come out.

I don't know, she seems really promising on paper but I can't help but thinking "Okay, does she work with Barrowin better than Strix does?" and all I can come up with is a resounding no. Barrowin doing nothing for someones actual DPS calculation is kind of a deathblow for anything that relies on it.

Looks like she's DPS only and no good as a buffer, so she's not for me. Looks to be a really good DPS though for those who are willing to change theirs!

I'll resume waiting for a buffer good enough to replace Evelyn. Maybe in seat 11 then?

Okay question one is: Is she useable?, but question two is: "Is the chest reward doubled (One chest per champion) or split one chest for one of the two event champions?"
I think this is also relevant for upcoming events, specially when you get an old event champion the first time not by using a timegate and want to focus on his/her gear.

She for newbies, when you have core chars only. Another trash tier hero.

I think this is also relevant for upcoming events, specially when you get an old event champion the first time not by using a timegate and want to focus on his/her gear.

I still not have Stoki and if they add one chest for both heroes i think i can't gear both champs in one event. Even if they add 2 different chests from one campaign this not good for me. Only if they add different event currency for champions and different missions.

I hope they made things not to easy to gear both champs, i hope they force us to make choices. Choices make things interesting.

I've been playing this game for a few weeks now and wonder what the purpose of this new char is. She is neiter a good damage dealer, tank nor support. As most formations have 9-10 slots the garbage slots (7 and 12) are hardly used. But maybe it is just me.

I rarely use slot 7, but at least she seems to be a bit better then minsc and cattie-brie. Also Stoki seems to be sub-par compared to Ishi. But she is lawful so I'd see at least one level where she would be mildly useful. Season of garbage. However, the bonus favor is always nice.

Instead of new mediocre champions I'd prefer to have better silver chests and higher drop rates for blacksmith potions. The 2/3 gold drops in silver chests is complete garbage. Gold chests also lack in content. They too often drop garbage (bounty contracts instead of useful potions, e.g. blacksmith).

I'd love to exchange one kind of a potion into another one, that would be a useful add-on! Or to change the equipment level from one hero to another temporarily (e.g. for a level where I cannot use my highest support/dps. Because it makes no sense to skill up a garbage char just because you'd need it for like one or two levels, e.g. stat or alignment restricted levels).

Farideh is an extremly powerful champion for people who don't use Barrowin she also has higher dps potential than Strixx
