Request for info on Calliope ability

Just wondering if anyone can help me undersrtand why the Song of Protection ability does not seem to refresh itself as the tooltip says it should. Am I missing something?

More in depth info:
I'm trying to kill the boss of the 75th level of the chicken challenge but am unable to do so because it keeps killing my tank. I'm healing 3.93e9 every second which is close to the amount needed to overcome the damage and if the Song of Protection were being reapplied as it should be I would in fact be able to survive until Minsc wittles it to death. But as soon as I lose any health the Song stops activating. I figure I must be misinterpreting the tooltip incorrectly and am hoping someone can explain what part I'm missing.

Yes I realize I could continue leveling up or restart to apply the divine favor I've earned but I've been grinding level 74 for about 3 days solid now and at this point it's more a matter of stubborness to see it through that anything else.It's taking that long because my current gold bonus is only 1.7k%. Though according to the end mission screen I'm going to increase that by about 20x once I finally finish this last part.

Bosses continually do more damage as time goes on. Eventually it will outdamage any healing or barriers.

All bosses, every 5 levels, have what amounts to an enrage timer. It makes it so you have what amounts to a few minutes to kill the boss. At that point they will progressive hit much harder until they one shot your tank. This is intentional so people have to focus on their damage and damage buffs from the party to increase damage, instead of spending 20 minutes to kill a boss.

The best case if you can't kill a boss is to free play a few times and reset, then it will be a breeze for you. There's no need to try to grind away at something when resetting is more beneficial.
