Two base adventures is not much to go on to refine a formation, but it's worked so far.

Zorbu, K'thriss

Aila, Gromma, Turiel

This takes advantage of Stoki's Ki Explosion by ~"double dipping" on the debuffs of Aila, Gromma, and Warden. It lets me get further than any other damage formation I've used, even without swapping champions. If you are in to swapping champions for more damage, it's easy to swap Gromma for Nayeli and Warden for Strix (or Minsc if you don't mind actually dragging champions around). You can also swap Aila for Makos but you have to watch Makos' health for that.
Wulfgar, Evelyn, Nayeli

So far, I've been using a gold-focused formation :
Walnut, Gromma, Wulfgar
Akasha, K'thriss
Regis, Xander
Jarlaxle, Makos (Dark Luck)
Shandie
I'm now hitting my wall, so I'm gonna try something else to see if I can push forward
I've never gotten the hang of using a "gold formation", I really don't know when to switch, at which point to set it up, etc. I always just push my wall and see how I do.
Using a gold formation, how much favour have you accumulated? I've done about 10-12 "farming" runs for favor and have about 2e21 favor (and an additional 1e18 spent).
I'm just curious how this compares with gold farm runs.
Evelyn - Aila - Turiel
Korth - Paultin

It's not about farming favor, it's more about going as far you can in a run, especially with low favor basis. Once you have enough favor to unlock anyway your characters max level during a run, you don't really need to use a gold formation anymore...
If you want an even bigger boost to your favor, go to your highest boss level, work on killing the boss and then use Jim Darkmagic to turn a minion into a Mimic. Then use your Azaka gold formation with Azaka's ultimate to get an even bigger boost to favor since Mimic's give 10x more gold. The hard part with this is killing the boss off without killing all the minions AND getting a Mimic without Jim turning all the minions into chickens that die instantly. So, it could take several tries to do this.
Bottom line, if you have Azaka, then a gold formation is still very useful to use at the end of your run regardless of whether or not you have maxed your champions.
Tyril (bear), Gromma (mountain), Aila
Avren, Donaar (chill),
Zorbu, Ktrhriss,
Quillek, Shandie (alchemist)
Stoki(explosion)/ [Paultin(Additional) on later boss levels]
combind with patience and the Makos-Azaka gold formation switch-ult has brought me to 516 and e24
I have 3 of these guys! Guess which ones.
Turiel,Evelyn,Aila,
Arven, Stoki
Zorbu, Gromma
Korth, Catti-brie

I reached area 614 with this formation, but stoki's golden palm ability does not appear to be working with makos dark luck.

Arven, Jarlaxle
Azaka, Gromma
Korth, Catti-brie
Makos
I have earned 1.45e28 Tiamat's favor using this formation.
Wow, what specializations for this formation?
