Where is my equipment ?

This game is SO confusing. I've just started playing, I spent the last 30 minutes looking everywhere ingame and reading faqs to understand how equipment works but I still don't.

I read everywhere that equipment ("gear" like it seems to be called here) is equipped automatically. Well, that is completely wrong. I opened a chest and got several "gears" : 2 "clanking pauldron" which increase gold found by 10% and a gear for a specific champion. I checked on my champions, the pauldron is not equipped. Actually, nothing is equipped. So, I checked my inventory but there are no gears there either.

I got several gears, they are not equipped, they are not in inventory, they are nowhere to be found. I guess when you open a chest, all gears obtained vanish in another dimension, so that you'll never see them again.

Seriously, the UI of this game is garbage (took me 10 minutes to find the settings page).

Also visible on the characters portrait - central cell, below their name - accessible by clicking on the characters portrait on the bottom bar.

Inventory is for consumables.

The item you are referring to -"clinking pauldron", belongs to the character in the 12th slot - Arkhan, - who, if you've only been playing for a couple of minutes, you probably won't have encountered yet.

gear is automatically assigned to the right hero ... click on a hero to see details and you'll see the gear. If you find the same gear it just upgrades the existing one

Thank you Red Shift, indeed the pauldron is visible on that character's sheet.

Damn, this really IS confusing. I got a gear for Hew-Maan and there's his name on the card. But for the pauldrons, nowhere it is indicated that this is for Arkhan, so I sssumed it was a generic gear that can be equipped on anyone.

Now I get it. To see the gears I own : collection. To see consumable : inventory.
Geez they could have made this more obvious. Thanks again.

gear is specifc to champs, there is no gear that is universal. There should be images on the "card" showing a pic of the champ the gear is for.... trust me, you'll get it quick enough
