Part of the reason they don't routinely offer to move players is probably due to CNE's size as a studio. It probably takes some time to process a complete move and if they advertised that was possible then they would be opening the door to potentially receiving requests all the time. Since that'd fall into Shawn's lap, he'd probably end up doing that for a share chunk of the day rather than dealing with the rest of the support tickets that come in.

But other than that...for the same reason that platforms really, really don't like to share their slice of the pie when it comes to cross-platform play...I would not be at all surprised if they weren't supposed to do it for contractual reasons....but I'd only be guessing as far as that goes, but given how platforms tend to function I'd be willing to bet there's a pretty good chance of some clause/stipulation relating to that somewhere in the contracts CNE has with the various platforms they deal with.

That being said, there have been occasions where, in exceptional circumstances,...e.g. stolen equipment, loss of access etc...where players have had their accounts moved. Perhaps if you (can) think you have a circumstance that might apply it might be worth submitting a support ticket and asking.

Game use one client for steam and epic.
So i think main reason to keep playerbase separated is "just pay more".

I believe it's been stated that the reason for it being a different client is because of the requirements Epic insist developers adhere to in order to have their games made available on the Epic store. The Epic client of Idle Champions had to be a 64-bit version to work with the Epic Launcher but the Steam version is not 64-bit (currently) and hence it ended up as its own separate build.

You can add steam_api.dll and steam_appid.txt to epic version, and it be worked as steam, including different account (steam), status presence in steam library, acheivements, etc.

I don't think it's functionally impossible, it is more legal. (AKA Epic doesn't want developers using Steam.)

Bit like Apple wouldn't allow Samsung or whomever in their shop.

This migration code is/was a one time migration for the browser based WebGL platform only. When the browser WebGL platform was shut down in 2021 players should be able to keep their progress (especially if paid) and move to another platform.

Because i have idled a long time and the Epic Games platform does have serious issues on my setup (ICotFR has 36k+ files and it took 3h to update/verfiy over my NAS) i really want to move my progress to any other platform.

(Yes, i know the date. But i have the same issue of this topic. If there is a solution now or later i would like to know it.)

The issues are not Epic's fault, really, since on Steam you may still need to frequently verify your files to minimize the many small (and not so small) bugs caused by the way the game handles its files (poorly.)

In general, migration IS possible (but only once).

File appropriate support ticket here: http://help.idlechampions.com/?page=help ,
ask nicely and properly explain your situation. There is a good chance your request will be granted.

As a prophylactic measure, it is recommended to do file recheck at least once or twice per month, or even more often if you encounter unexpected glitches.
