Event Free Play Pity Timer
After an event free play reaches the 2500 token cost, is there still a pity timer?

i.e. Should I use my 10,000 tokens to buy a guaranteed gold chest, or should I cycle the free play four times because I would be guaranteed a gold chest, via the pity timer, and three silver chests? Or does doing that risk getting 4 silver chests?

If I am not mistaken the pity timer stays even after the first gold chest.
Got gold chest first free play for 500 .... then silver, silver, silver and then I got a guaranteed gold for 2500

It's better to keep going with 2500 than buy 1 gold. If you have time to mine tokens and get to level 50.

"mine" - I use this term as in getting contracts and using them. As there is a set amount of tokens you get per event (46,000? I think??).

it's 25% per free play, pity timer 4 free plays, which means free plays are always better than token-bought chest if you have time to play
Also of note: the pity timer is NOT carried across to the following year, so always try to end on a gold for each champion

The pity timer appears to cross event years though. I just did 3 Wulfgar free plays and got 3 silver chests. On a whim, I then did a Lazaapz free play and got a gold chest. I then went back and did what would have been my 4th Wulfgar run, and got another silver chest.

Could be, or you hit the 25% chance for gold. If you do a Wulfgar and don't get gold we'll know for sure, if you get gold instead it was probably (but not certainly) it is shared across the champions in the year. I could swear I'm not getting the crossover though

By "carried across to the following year" I meant the same event 365 IRL days later though, as reported by Psylisa
