Question from an achievement hunter:
Why have so few people unlocked so many of the achievements in this game? Are they difficult, or just extremely time-consuming?

or they don't care. There are different reasons per achievement I guess. Plus I think in-game achievements that actually do something are different than steam achievements. I have many steam achievements missing because I was not bothered to complete certain levels yet (even though I could).

I have been playing for a year and I have 90% of in game achievements. I think I can get to 95% in a short period and then it will be a LOOOONG grind.

I was wondering the same..literally the easiest 1st quest achievements were showing up as gold rare to me on steam.

My theory is alof of players were playing for long time before they were added to the game and have already done those campaigns and cannot re-do them retroactively. And also the game maybe has no check to reward them retroactively also.

The thing is that a lot of player give a try at this game, because its free and DnD and positive feedback, but only a reduced portion of them continue playing in long term.

This type of game is not for all tastes.

Time-consuming, plus they add more every three weeks, so as an achievement hunter, think carefully whether this is a good game to add to your 100% list.

Its time consuming (as stated above). For an achievement hunter & an idle game it should be fine. Complete all (currently) 200-ish missions and you should have all steam achievements.
In game achievements are even more time consuming but that's just game logic: Give your players something to work to so they keep playing.

If you can get all achievments then you are also at a point in your progression where you can easily do new ones as they come out.

My theory for steam achievements in general is that they reveal that 10-60% of the people who pick up a game never play it. And I mean never. In both Civ games I have on steam, only 90% of players have found a friendly village. In BG, like 45% of players have left Candlekeep. I kinda wish they excluded players who have <1 hour of play or something, because some games have very skewed stats for how rare certain achievements are.

I think sometimes it happens because of the free weekend plays some games have.
But usually its a pretty good indicator of rarity/difficulty.

Back to your original point for a FREE game this kinda makes even more sense why the stats are so crazy in this one.
