Time Gate Piece challenge

What's the recommended way to get the piece? I'm speedrunning as much as I can, but hardly have any in-person time in front of the game to reset and set it up again

As luckbased as this one is, coming up with a real strategy might become difficult in general. As you say, you don't have much time to reset the game, maybe you're better off putting a couple of auto-clickers onto your hero upgrades, once they're beyond the branch, so a (somewhat slower) run without much attention can at least carry you somewhere around 150-200.

I doubt there is much luck involved, they can only drop again after 5 days... if you got one right before the challenge started you may have to wait a few days before you even get the chance on another one. Once those days, where they are blocked from dropping, are over it drops rather quickly.

If you click at the button in the lower left corner and drop certain file on the drop zone (read about it more after clicking at bolded PRICE word), you will see how TG pieces work and when you can expect it to drop.
Problem with "farming" TG piece is that you might be unable to farm them for a few days at all, so there is no point in even trying to do so.
New piece is AVAILABLE 5 to 6 days after last one dropped (you can check exact time on that website). After that cooldown, you can start farming. Chance for one to drop from a killed boss is around 5% (info from CNE).

just wanted to add, that there is no pity timer
while chance is VERY low, it is possible that you won't be able to get one during this 2 week time span :P

Btw., displaying your website at 1024x768 is a bit difficult at parts. Some of the overlay windows stretch further vertically than the browser window and the early access overlay blocks some of the text. Once you're done with the more urgent programming parts, maybe you could consider a few cosmetic changes for lower resolutions? :-)

Yes. Once piece drops, RNG starts to work and returns some value between 5 and 6 (not an integer obviously :P and to tell the truth, we don't really know how it EXACTLY works, that's an assumption made on observation of the timer updates), this gets added to current timestamp and stored in your player-data (luckily made available to you, so that you can read it :D ).

This page is in a very work in progress state. Initially I wasn't going to release it in such, but then some people asked for it (I've released other, much simpler version of it earlier) and seeing that recently I don't have much time to work on it ... I've released it for public access, but it works how it works and looks how it looks ;)

And yes, for now I am working on it on my FHD screen and that's what it is optimized for. I am already working on some layout changes etc, but actually far more important part (to me, for now) is the dynamic part, that presents your own - player's data, just like this TG piece availability and (not mentioned before) chest counts and pity timers. When the "main dish" will be ready, I can reorganize it in whatever way I would like to :) Current layout is very simple so there won't be much problem with it. However ... you do know that 1024x768 is really low res now? I know that such site is no reason to update your device, but there still might be some inconveniences - I am not a true web developer - I am learning as I create this, so I can't guarantee, that the interface will be responsive enough for this resolution, surely I will try - I like challenges :D (playing this game without crash is another challenge ... but I don't like such challenges :P )

Well, I'm always making a good indicator for the sort of users on outdated tech. Plus I personally find low resolutions more comfortable to look at. If Windows still offered it as a standard option, I'd propably still be on 800x600 (or maybe even all the way down to 640x480). :-)

No need to rush it of course. I suppose, I'll still be in this setting in ten years, and, if not now already, then certainly by then, the last one, who looks at your site that way. Things are starting to get a bit tricky at some websites lately indeed, though it's less the low resolution and much more the 4:3 ratio, that is no longer taken into account by everyone.
I'll just keep toying around with stuff until it works the way, I'm used to. And some day, I'll get my C128 into the net and find a way to get Steam running on it. :-)

Can you get a Timegate Piece in the Time where a Timegate is open ? I think i never get a piece in the Time it whas open, maybe i just whas on the cooldown in this Time.

It took me quite some time to figure out if there was such a word in there, let alone if it was either bold or clickable together with the unscrollability of the page (we both may have FHD screen, but I have poor eyesight and need zooming!)... there's something to be said for different colouring and underlining of interactable elements

That said, thanks a lot! Is the time value shown in the local browser time or in some CST/PST/WTF timezone?

it should be your local time (whatever is detected by your browser)
as for other parts - I know that style got a bit broken when I've merged two branches of this project and like I wrote earlier - it's in a very WorkInProgress state ( with Early Access "sticker" :P ) and I really did not want to release it in such a state, but on the other side ... you won't be able to use it at all ;)

TG pieces drop from bosses, it does not matter where you are atm, or whether TG is actually open.
