Says he about to leave the game running for about 18 hours to farm all of the gold for favour !
As stated this is an idle games. Idle games are a game of progression through an overall collection of something. That something in this case is "favor". How you gain favor is how much gold you get. So, the more gold you get, the more favor you end up with when you complete a run.
This "something" that's being collected usually adds a bonus of some sort. In this case, favor adds a bonus to gold found. Therefore, the more favor you get, the more gold you gain from each adventure.
So, the more gold you get, the more favor you get, the more you gold get, the more favor you get...and so on.
When you reset, your champions start over and your gold starts over. That's about it. You keep everything else such as gear, items, gems and chests.
2- when killing is not easy anymore, reset your quest.
3- earn favor from resetting; with favor you earn more gold to progress further next time. do more restarts if you accumulate at least 50% more favor.
4- earn gems killing bosses. for starters, buy silver chests with gems, open them and get gears for heroes to make them stronger so that you even progress further. do this as often as you fell comfortable.
5- meantime, you get used to do above steps, immerse yourself into the game without noticing and become addicted. even if you want to quit playing, let it run background and visit regularly :))
What do you mean you earn favor from resetting? So if I give up on a mission and start over I still earn favor?
I'm sort of curious how to get the OP characters, I'm still on the default heroes and haven't had a chance to earn any of the heroes that are advertised everywhere. Am I supposed to buy them with real money?
You earn favour regardless of wether you succeed or fail the missions, succeeding offers gems. It's usually easier to earn favour in freeplays though, but I think you need to get a little bit further for those.
Heroes are (mostly) unlocked through events that come along every few weeks. Probably... the 21st or 28th for the next one, just a guess. You can also unlock a hero by signing up for the newsletter.
go to this official game page and press big red sign up button and subscribe to newsletters for
a) to unlock Hitch and
b) to get a gold chest key if there is an event (new hero or just a special weekend)
all other heroes are
a) unavailable to get because their events are over, they will possibly be back 1 year after their events. (they may be included DLC packs)
b) coming later in new events which is held in 3-4 weeks intervals. events are 11-12 days long and starts wednesday/thursday nights (which one was correct? I dont remember). these heroes will be new to us too. our difference will be our old event heroes only.
Awesome thanks, I got it. Just can't afford the character yet I guess, doesn't show up in the bar yet I can't even afford Minsc yet XD
Just keep grinding up to your "Wall" where you can't progress any farther and reset. You'll soon be getting all those other heroes.
Don't worry too much about the Event heroes you can't get. While a few of them are really good, most are average at best and even with the non-Event heroes, you'll be able to do well.
The biggest thing to learn is the buffs that heroes give each other. This is where your damage gets really good. You're mostly going to get one Damage Dealer hero and everyone else will be there just to buff the one that deals the damage.
Also, be sure to check out the forums every day or two for those free Gold Chest giveaway codes that get posted. They can really help out with gear in the beginning.
