Who's better buffer, Makos, or Birdsong?
That.

gear dependent
for equal gear - birdsong

Birdsong.
Spec Makos for gold farming and have Birdsong buff your group.
With similar gear I get better results with Birdsong, but as cesspit mentioned, if you want to farm gold makos is your guy, Birdsong for when you hit the wall or just want a better output in general. I imagine if you had better gear on Makos he may outperform, but I'd be less inclined to think that myself, unless he was really far ahead equipment wise.

It's not gear dependent at all. It's simply no contest. Birdsong naked will beat out a well-geared Makos.

Birdsong has a base (without gear) buff of 6400%.
-1600% base
-100% increase for alignment
-100% increase for on-hit
-It can go higher if Birdsong gets any kills

A well-geared Makos will be buffing 4000% or so.

Yep, I can see the damage difference now. I got the shinny ancklet and I got the Epic Lute in a golden chest and the damage really buffs. I think I can finally pass the level 175 wall without potions. (I'm still in 400 million favor)

I use Makos for gold until i hit wall (dependin on map, around 169-174), then i switch to Birdsong since it is much more better than him and can go about 20 levels more (even more ..got to 200 in this event, but could not beat that).
For me both have almost same gear, 1 epic and all the rest blue (makos still having a green one), but could do better as @Psylisa said even naked (at least in my case for sure).

bad math...

w/o gear 800% base + 100% for spec + 100% for hit
total 3200% or x33

Full epic Makos: 900% base + 275% skill gear = 3375% or x34.75
and 230% from to all gear
total x114.68

So full epic Makos better that Birdsong as buffer

Buff for kill-shots available only if Birdsong is DD

Even with minsc being better, birdie and makos take the same slot. You can swap out Jarl for minsc, then use birdie as well. At least for me, that tends to net higher damage than any other composition i've used.

You read only 2 last strokes, so can't recognize mistype

The moment you spend 5$ on the 3 Birdsong chests Makos is left in the dust because of the all champion damage golden epic. You'd have to buy a ton of gold chests to make Makos catch up at that point.

Ok, can we go back to the gear vs gear debate here - it started as a direct comparison, then went naked vs fully, which was debunked, but the original fully geared vs fully geared - can I get some math on that?

I'm considering buying the golden pack if birdsong is actually a fair bit ahead, mostly since as the only 3 crusader spot atm, that spot is unlikely to go 4x before a whole bunch of new crusaders, meaning it will be a good spot to invest in for the next few months.

Ungeared Makos give x19 with Dark Blessing
Ungeared Birdsong give x33 with proper spec and hitting, but not killing

birdgsong
Wisak Feb 26, 2018 @ 3:37am
I have both geared up. Birdsong is better buffer. :)
